Fair. But I was not heavy on all the Shower series. I like the first 2 that came out and then it took a dive for a bit. El Dorado is good. I know that when a good beer first comes out everybody jumps on the bandwagon. Like for the Citra Showers by Noble when it first came out I was there the first day and did not know what to expect. I thought it was great. And of course when everybody else got wind of the Citra Showers it was gone like in 60 seconds. I remember it being available at 6 bottles per person and I think that same day later in the afternoon it went to 4 then eventually to 2 bottles. Of course everybody has a right to go and buy the newest and greatest beer at the moment. I'm just saying and not point any individual out that there are a lot more younger kids and older kids like me who are just now getting into good craft beer, and when they find out about it they call everybody and their mothers to get over there quick. And there are a few that call their buddies up as a mule. And there are those who think they know a good craft beer. And other new guys who just want a high ABV to get wasted. It is just so overwhelmed with "newbies" that the days of getting pliny or any hard to get bottles are gone. The demand is higher these days. And I don't mean newbies in a bad way. Just referring to the newbies as the new kids on the block. Sorry if I hurt some feelings out there

The least they could do is toss the mason jars back to Knott's Berry Farm and get some proper glassware.

Drinking out the mason jars always feels dirty for some reason. It doesn't help the aroma of the beer at all. Also I wonder if those jars are full pints because they feel so small.

I was looking forward to Bootlegger's festival at the Muck this year. Well, they gave us a muck alright, lol. They had this mess of a week long celebration like Bottle Logic. Only it didn't revolve around daily beer releases, but these wacky events. A home brew bottle share you have to pay to go to? WTF. Two almost unannounced 7th Anniversary bottle releases. One called Day, which is a clear copy cat of Naughty Sauce and Night, a Black IPA. I know everyone likes to rag on their labels, and while they changed their labels for these two beers, they are using like 11 different fonts. I made better art in my junior high desktop publishing class lol. While still sort of lovable, I'm wondering what's going on here??

Agreed, their anniversary thing was very uncoordinated and not done very well. Also, the Knuckle Sandwich they had on tap this weekend was by far the worst batch they've made. No other real special releases for the anniversary. I was not a fan of "Day" and didn't try "Night".

Ye olde mason jar was the flagon of choice for, surprise, the bootlegger. Take a sip you're swallowing history. I like that.

I like the all-patio-all-the-time feel of the place. There is no brewery that I know of in OC that has such a comfortable backyard laidbackness. Other than Fridays and Saturdays, it's pretty chill place to spend an afternoon drinking craft.

Patricia, one of the owners, tends bars Thurs/Fridays and is sweeter than a bottle of Creme Brulee. Did KS fall off the map? Yep. No doubt. But I always find something enjoyable, like a mix of Black Phoenix/Golden Chaos (yes, weird, but oddly tasty) or Far Out. I'd like a return to the old KS days, when Boots put out sours that could curdle motor oil. But until I can rig my backyard hose to spew their 3x IPA, I'll keep visiting Boots.

Of course they're still open. I hear the loud thump of stupid giant Jenga miles away.

But seriously, that place died to me when it moved across the street for the police station. Yeah, no thanks to that drinking venture.

I remember at their second or third anniversary they made a kombucha lambic that was fucking delicious. The old place had a certain charm to it. They never recovered after losing their head brewer, but they're surviving...Plus the old place was within stumbling distance of a bomb mexican place.

Now it's within literal stumbling distance of 2 Saucy Broads, the pizza joint, which is across the alley.

You don't even need to stumble, Broads will walk your pizza next door to Bootleggers.

I lived in Fullerton when Bootleggers opened up and was very excited to go there for the first time. Loved their IPA's and enjoyed Black Phoenix. Really wanted good things for them (still do) but as other local breweries grew and got better, this one just stayed the same.

@AaronBoots - why isn't Missile Crisis around more often??? And why haven't you barrel aged it yet???
