Heading out to California on Aug 12th to see Phillies/Angels game. Wed the 13th we drive down to SD for the Padres. we are stopping to golf @ Camp Pendelton then down to the Omni Hotel and the game. The 14th is a golf day @ Torrey Pines then on the 15th we head back to LA for the Dodgers stopping for golf @ Navy Golf Course ( Admiral Baker). Then fly up to SF for Phils/Giants on Saturday.

Looking for good spots to head to in LA and SD whether they are brewery's or nice bars.

You can actually park your car at the AWESOME Noble Aleworks and walk over to the Angels game when you conclude your pre-game "research".

Everything but the Coliseum and the league leading A's? For shame.

Everywhere else is probably a nicer place, but there's no better place to actually watch the game.

I dunno man, watching the game from The Draft down at Petco is pretty satisfying.

I've been to a lot of baseball stadiums and Oakland is the worst.

Yeah, but it's very cheap to go to games there... which mitigates many of the other issues.

Absolutely. A Big Dog is the best food deal in sports.

Headed west to Bay area for mini-reunion w/ extended family. Headed to an As game next Tuesday, as a matter-of-fact. Staying in Pleasanton. Thinking of hitting Drakes beforehand for similar type research.

Usually when the Giants are at home the A's are on the road and visa-versa. I think this is true for the Angels/Dodgers as well.

Oakland is away otherwise we would hit them.

For Giants (awesome stadium BTW), pre-game research at 21st Amendment then walk to the ballgame

Then go to Public House, buy 2 $7 Plinys and walk into the stadium with those beers.

And repeat. They stamp your hand as you go in and out. When I was there last month they had Alpine on draft too.

I may be wrong, but I don't think they've ever had Pliny there. They do usually have Blind Pig though, and a whole mess of other great beers.

Here's the beer menu...they update it daily: http://www.publichousesf.com/menu/

    (
I think they do get a keg of Younger in February, but there ain't no ball games in February)

I was told by one of the bartenders that they get random kegs of Pliny in the off-season but have never seen it there the couple of times I've been in the off-season. The menu is updated frequently but not everything seems to make it so I always ask
