Ya... To be honest I wasn't even talking about football. I meant because he's a literal bear.....

    Bad joke is bad.

Texas only has one win since 2009 against Baylor, which is crazy. I attended school between 2000 and 2004 and we will maybe have 3 wins year so I happy when we are just a winning team at the end of the year. I root for Tech when it does not conflict with Baylor.

Probably the best method is just to get a couple of groups together to drive down once a month and split bottles and price for gas if it is that important. Hell, most beers last 2-3 weekends.

Good points... heck... I wish Karbach would save me bottles here in Houston... hate the fight for beer this city creates.

I've gone to a few bars in dry cities that required that you pay for a membership in order to drink there...maybe it is different for offsite vs on site consumption.

Those are "private clubs" where you have to be a member to drink there. So, if TABC had something like that (doubt they could through TABC rules as a brewpub), everyone would have to be a member to drink there or a guest of a member.

So, that would not really work out.

(I got bored and took the TABC certification thing a month ago and crap like that was mentioned)

Slightly OT, but IIRC those "private clubs" are to get around the prohibition of actually selling alcohol to the public in dry cities/counties.

    For the most part, yes.

That makes sense...BTW, living in a dry county suuuuuuuuuucks. Did it for nine months...and that was about 8 months and 30 days too long.

People have already covered this topic for the time being.

I will add though that all you out of Austin people should get in the carpooling game! I've carpooled to JK from Austin with multiple Austinites and it's good for banter, the environment, sharing being the DD, etc.

If you're really worried about getting one of everything, set up a cartel of people who can take turns going and pool all bottles and divide in a mutually agreed upon way each 8-12 weeks.

FWIW It's the same at Costco in CA, so using Costco in TX as an example, well, let's not.
I think it has more to do with the club membership becoming an extra tier which is not allowed nationwide. Or the club kind of giving certain people access to discount alcohol. I could be wrong.

Because you're not entitled to their beer.

If I could like this more than once I would. This was my exact same thought. When JK announced that they would distribute less to the DFW area, I was pretty sad and a bit angry. I thought, "I live in the same state as JK and I can't get everything they make without driving there to get it." But that thinking is in the past. I'm so happy I can get down there once in a while to stock up. And when something new comes out and I am not going down there, someone else gets to enjoy it. It's all good, and I don't have to have every last release JK puts out. But not everyone thinks like I do, and that is okay.

If they keep releasing at the current pace, it's unlikely you're going to see many beers sell out in a weekend. I can only get there a few times a year, but if everything is available for at least a couple weeks, that's pretty good compared to most.

i guess i must be fortunate but i'm there every weekend and i'm making the drive up from houston. if only my hustle game was on point or i had as many mules as mattchow i wouldn't have to go as much.

You don't need mules at JK sir, you just need some hustle, that game is to be sold not told.... Also the JK brewers I talked to said, "Right now, we are able to sell almost all of the beers we are able to make, at the brewery." In the next year or two when the brewery is able to produce more than they can just retail at the brewery they will start up full distro just like they used to... Think about it, before the laws changed they sent Hou, Dal, San, Austin, the small batches of everything, they will again, no need for a reserve society at this time.... Just wait for them to get a bit larger and FLOOD Distro will be your best friends lol. If I can drive from Houston all the time and I work 6 days a week and my gf hates beer you guys can figure it out too.

I would as well, but for those unable to make the trip getting a bottle almost as fresh is the second best.

Complaining that a reserve society is needed because I can't make it down and I want everything is how it becomes entitlement. JK doesn't need a reserve society for all the reasons outlined multiple times throughout the thread. If you don't understand it by now, you probably won't.

Saying it would be cool to have a RS is one thing, getting butthurt and complaining that they don't have one is entitlement.
