I see so many bottles being traded back and forth its tough to gauge what it trades for. Im not looking to go crazy, what would it take to land a single bottle of this.

What got me wondering is that I saw 3- w00t 2.0 trade for 2 Atrial.

While Texans seem to overvalue Atrial a bit, it really shouldn't be that hard to trade for. People were able to get 2 bottles per day at the brewery, so there is quite a bit of it going around. Any limited brewery release or even rare shelf beers that are around the $16 price should do it. If you were to go the shelf beer route, like W00t, you'd have to go over $4$. So 2 W00t for 1 Atrial seems about right.

Yeah, Atrial is pretty much a shelf beer at this point. I mean, some people would note that it's number 6 on the AWA list with over 800 ratings, only behind other tired beers such as VSB, Fuzzy, DDG, Cable Car, and the pedestrian Supplication. But I'd say they're just being pedantic.

Not really. I trade Atrial and Nocturn and other JK beers for stuff I want to try on a $4$ basis only. Most recently for some shelf IPA from Maine. Doesn't matter how limited some other bottle is. It goes the other way as well. I don't trade with people who expect more than $4$. The problem with trading Atrial for other beer, no matter the rarity, is the other beer I'm trading for probably isn't gonna be as good to me as atrial. So maybe you could equate that to me "overvaluing" it.

Sorry, I shouldn't have generalized all Texans overvaluing the beer, it's just something I've seen a lot of since the release.

For every Texan hoarding and trying to drive up the value of Jester King beers there is one willing to send it out to others to try as well. I found one by dumb luck that absolutely sent me a killer box of JK beers and just said send the same $value back to me. Sounds like @mhenson42 is similar.

Good luck in your search Jeff

I always laugh at these comments, because they indicate someone who doesn't actually know where Jester King is. It's out in the middle of nowhere, and virtually no one lives near there, so it's always an effort to get out there. From downtown Austin it's 20-30 minutes each way with traffic, and from the suburbs where I live, it's more like an hour each way.

So yes, you can buy 2 per day, but for me that would mean a 2+ hour drive each time I want to get 2. That, plus the fact that Atrial is awesome, might help explain why some of us "overvalue" it. But what do I know - I send Atrial as extras

~20 mins from a downtown metropolitan area does not equal middle of nowhere. If you want middle of nowhere, check the location on HF

I lived in Burlington, VT before moving to TX, so I'm quite familiar. Doesn't change my point, though - it's not simple to just "stop by" JK. It's an intentional trip.

As is anyplace you stop. JK is far more reachable to someone in Austin than HF is to someone in Burlington.

I'm not for or against the argument. Just saying.

1.25 million in Austin metropolitan area, but your point is still valid. Though I do have to point out that Texas being Texas, the Austin metropolitan area is 1/2 the size of Vermont ... so that "one's a city and one's a state" concept of size breaks down.

Alaska isn't the MIDDLE of nowhere, it's the far left corner of nowhere.
