A much overlooked topic: The bottle cap. Breweries love to have fun with them. What are some of your favorites? Please post pics if it's a regional brewery so all can see. I'll list my favorites.

    1. Trappistes Rochefort
    2. Three Floyds
    3. Hopslam

    Cheers!

The other day a friend asked me what beers I would try from a brewery blindly regardless of public reception or style. I included Stone brewing company in my lengthy response, and it turned out he was giving me a pop quiz off of a Stone Brewing bottle cap that claimed I would include Stone in my answer.

I've got to hand it to them, they know how to pull off a good bottle cap.

The coolest beer cap is Prairie Bomb!, a catfish.

PBR's is a classic, even if it is schiessebeir.

are what immediately come to mind. Firestone is just so damn classy. And that silver writing against the vibrant green on the Hoptimum is just so sexy.

Oh, and who can forget Hopslam. I guess I like green?

I collect bottle caps and make magnets out of them. Right now the collection is just north of 100- all of them unique. As long as it's different in the smallest bit from other caps it counts (for instance, some Victory caps have an 'FL' on the bottom which is new...so that counts as a new cap).

I'd say my favorites, in no particular order, are:
    - Rothaus, because of the memories, plus it's a pretty classy cap
    - Ayinger caps
    - Southern Tier
    - Three Floyds
    - Victory, since it is a marvelous design that sums up "we just won WWII" in a simple, retro way
    - The Samuel Smith's sequence
    - DFH 120
    - Bell's Oberon
    - Erdinger Urweisse

I like the red, white, and blue of Sam Adams. Not my favorite beer, but a great cap.

The Bruery bottle caps are probably my favourite; I mean, why have a cap that looks generic when you can stand out instead?

Call me nuts, but Rochefort 10. So simple, yet effective. The 25th Anniversary caps for Great Lakes were nice as well.

Re the Victory cap, just an FYI to update your info.

The cap symbolizes their motto, which is " Victory over Prohibition."

Correction, it's one of the advertising lines they use in several places and the apparent reason behind their name.
