Cracked one open last night and was super impressed. I didn't get much of the whiskey barrel flavor, but I thought it was a really well made sour. Not a tooth-stripper but plenty of bite. I paid about $22 with tax, I think.

Bought a couple on Saturday night from El Cerrito at 19.99 before taxes, gonna crack it open tonight and see how it stands up to 3. I've heard nothing but good things so hopefully its just as good or better.

Ah, this makes the Craftshack's bundling make more sense now...

I know this is an LA thread, but I managed to find a few bottles at Distiller's Outpost in poway for those in san diego. There were at least 4 left yesterday, conviniently right next to a slew of their stout. =P

Weird reading the Stout is still sitting, we blew through ours easily. Chocolate Ale on the other hand, I can't give away.

There might very well have been quite a bit of it before. Again I just saw it randomly there and comparing bottles of Love Child to the bottles of the stout it was easily a 1:3 ratio of just what was on the shelf.

If the rumors of them making stores buy two cases of other Boulevard beers for one case of Love Child are true (ans im fairly sire they are because every store that posted LC had it next to Chocolate Ale or Stout in their posts) then that sounds about right.

I doubt that's true for all distributors. My GA rep didn't make me buy anything additional, and then got me a second case the following week.

Please know that this is not a directive coming from the brewery.

I think it's a poor business practice from distributors stand point. We don't force our customers to buy beer that they don't want. We been supporting Boulevard throughout not so much in this case. We sell more sour beer compare to any other beer. I feel bad that I wasn't able to get this for our customers.

I bought a bottle of it yesterday at my local bottle shop in Valencia. He confirmed he had to buy 2 cases of chocolate stuff to get 1 case of love child 4
