Bad Trader/Scam: BSBSME

You would be astounded by some of the shit people try to pull off...especially in the facebook groups..

 

Yup. FB trading is wildly unchecked and unverifiable in term of credentials and certainty. People are brazen enough to screw other people using their personal profiles that have low privacy settings and/or that are linked to their family members, not just "friends". The feedback system on BA is extremely valuable, even if sometimes some bad traders manage to sneak through. When I find leads on FB, I ask if they have a profile and trading history here or other reputable beer sites, then go from there.

 

I Too also had a Brief stint with @BSBSME. He and I agreed to Trade some Plinys for a few from Dark Horse. Not having any feedback, Of course I demanded that he ship first. I sent a Trade request which he accepted. And agreed to ship first... 2 weeks later, no answer, no update, no message, no tracking, no beer. The trade offer is still stands as open, but at this point I've already received 3 Plinys from another trader.

 

BAs often trade without initiating a formal request. It's disturbing that this thread quickly showed at least 3 potential victims. It's hard to believe there aren't more. I just hope he didn't succeed with any of them.

GREAT info on cancelling a fedex shipment. Thanks. That's another compelling reason that shipping 1st should mean shipping and receiving. There have been instances where people have shipped immediately after the other party shipped & then received nothing but an empty box or box of junk.

 

Those who doubt the lengths some people go were not here for jojomdma and mikesgroove. To this day no one has come close to topping the rip offs of these two.

Just noticed I was working a trade with him during the same time, I asked him to ship first and he said let me think about it.... lol

 

even if it costs you more money to get the beer back than it would to just let the beer go I say it is worth it just to keep a thief from winning.

 

I noticed that this trade behavior and the timing of these guys joining the site is very similar to that of someone who screwed me. He was from California as well. What city did they have you ship to? I just want to see if it is the same guy and warn others.

BTW I have a Capt'n Krunkles growler someone sent me up for trade.

 

I'm working on figuring out a time to come down to visit RD for the first time, and make another stop at Peekskill, getting a craving lately. I think in a few weeks I'm gonna check out Crossroads when I'm visiting my parents in Albany.

Bsbsme tried to scam me too. I demanded he ship first and ge said he did. He forgot the tracking number so I didn't ship that day. Bottom line, he never shipped and promised he did. I tried to notify BA and they said trade at your own risk.

 

My scammer lives about an hour away. What's up SoCal BA's?

 

wow! Glad I found this. I have a box all wrapped up and waiting for him. He supposedly sent on July 8th but forgot this tracking number. Because of the join date I was waiting till I got his box before sending mine. 2 weeks later, I haven't heard a peep from him. Seems I am not the only one. Glad I never sent. But now I have a growler of beer that normally wouldn't drink. Win some/lose some.

@BSBSME is so pissed that he didn't get any free beer from his scamming...it doesn't pay to work so hard to be a tool evidently!

 

In looking at his few posts, unless he did some homework it seems like he's a somewhat experienced trader and/or member of the community considering he knows the acronyms and terms ($4$), etc...

So considering the likelihood that this dude probably is an active member under a different name either here or on other sites, makes this extra shitty in my book. It's not like he's some serial pro scammer who just happended to stumble onto a beer site and said "hey, let me give this venue a shot"...seems to me like he's part of the community already and just decided to turn scammer.

Just a bummer...
