What? This is a weird list. So basically, Summit, the number one brewery in the state averaged a 6th place spot? These lists must have been all over the place.

No Cold Spring? Someone's buying those 30-packs of Northern.

Not anywhere near who or how I would have ranked.

Yeah, but look at the judges. Makes sense.
Even so, the selection of Harriet and 612 over some really great breweries puzzles me.

I want to see a return of the days of $4.99 blow-outs on a rack of "Gluek's Honey Bock", dammit!

It's a decent list. I'm guessing they were ranking "breweries" not "brewpubs". I hope so anyway as most of our states brewpubs put most of the breweries on that list to shame.

And to leave out Hammerheart was criminal.

If they're going to put 612 on this list they might as well add Kinney Creek to it too. While they're at it they could even resurrect Staples Mill, and put them in first place. That way they'll be doing maximum disservice to craft beer by directing potential new drinkers to the breweries with the largest quality control issues.

These things are always lame because the judges are mostly editors and writers, not beer people. I'm not saying they don't know anything about beer, but the results speak for themselves.

612 is the #1 brewery named after an area code. In Minneapolis. Until another one starts. Any other one.

Let me slap a 763 sticker on some homebrew. Boom, better than 612. Okay, okay, it isn't actually -that- bad, I just don't understand how they end up in a '10 Best in Minnesota'. I'm not sure if they are one of the '10 Best in Minneapolis'.

    "763 all the way."
    I'd say 952, but we don't have any :slight_frown:.

Two of my favorites that I don't think were mentioned are lift bridge in Stillwater and dayblock in Minneapolis. They both do I wide range of great beer.

Did you see who rated the beers? A bunch of journalists. None of them are beer geeks like us. If we had a BA list the top 10 would be a bit different.

TH is by far the best brewery in the state so not seeing them on the list makes me believe that the people that rated the article have no beer credentials.
