What beer are you drinking now? #642

I understand your point, and as much as I would like to do that, it's not practical for me. I work a 9-5 and usually the only computer time I have time for is while at work. The rest of the time is spent with my gf, dog, and friends. I also would rather enjoy my beers as another poster already mentioned instead of spending a bunch of time going back and forth and logging in etc. I'd much rather snap a quick picture and actually socialize with the people I'm drinking with that night and/or just relax. I envy those who can actually drink during the day and contribute live posts as it is definitely cool. I can usually sneak one in with lunch since I live so close to work, but that's about it. Once I get out of work all of my posts go to the next day. I think as long as people aren't posting things weeks later, it's still cool to see and relevant. I know it gives me some entertainment each day when work is slow.

 

agree but on the other hand also look at it like at least they are being honest. one could simply omit the disclaimer & you likely wouldn't know. the example that seems a little bit shallow to me is the bloke that posts it the night before but appears to want more "likes" on it the next morning.

I don't find it too hard to post what I'm drinking at the moment. Usually, it's at night when at home, but like when I was on the road last week and earlier this week, I always make mention of what I had earlier in the day, AND what I'm now drinking. Some others posted about having a full time job, kids, etc., and having no time, blah blah, I have a full time job too, but I take 5 mins out to take a pic with my phone, upload using mobile photobucket (while it's uploading, get my dinner ready), sit down with my meal and beer, post up the pic on here, and then enjoy the intricacies of the beer as it has warmed just a little by now. Taking time to take a pic and upload, then post here actually helps me enjoy the experience of having the beer, smell the aroma, look at the color, etc.; in addition to spending time with my wife, two dogs, and cockatiel (bird). That's my $.02. Here's what I'm having now, because I can, it's summer, and I'm enjoying my time off before I start teaching and coaching again in about two weeks.

I agree with this completely. I would never leave a relaxing/fun/social drinking situation to go post a picture of what I was drinking on the internet. Truthfully, I never post pictures of what I'm drinking unless I'm bored (as a result, I rarely post in this thread). With the exception of being board, I don't get the whole need to post a pic of what you're drinking. If I hung out with friends drinking Heady last night, that's all I need. I had fun, they had fun. That's it. I don't feel compelled to share it. I guess this is why I don't have a twitter or facebook account, ha ha.

 

Welcome to the world we live in now. It seems as though no one can do anything without posting a pic of it at that current time. But unlike Facebook and Twitter where you can directly load pics, on this site you actually have to use a secondary site to upload. Don't know about you but that process doesn't seem very conducive to enjoying the beers we all love so much. Why spoil the thing we all take so much pleasure in?

Relaxing out back enjoying a liquid lunch of my last Double Trouble, and starting to plan some needed vacation time. Just a picture perfect day around here to let your mind wander.....

 

I post because I love beer, photography, and music. Smart phones have made posting easier than ever, literally seconds. I view this thread as just one ongoing cyber party, where people share their life experiences. Kind of like being in a giant bar, except I don't have to call a cab to get home, because I'm usually already there! To each their own. Cheers to all!
