thin air, nose bleeds and charlie horses when you wake up in the morning, and an airport in the middle of frikking NOWHERE..

but the beer scene is great, but I'd rather be in Fort Collins.

Asheville would be nice, but remember it's not a big city and may not have the necessary infrastructure.
Chicago - gives me an excuse to visit Chicago.
Detroit - not as bad as people think it is, if only they'll turn the water back on.

One city I didn't see (maybe I overlooked it) is Atlanta. Easy to reach by car or plane - hey, we've got the world's busiest airport! There are several large parks that could easily accommodate all the tents (and porta-potties). Public transportation is good as long as you stay inside the Perimeter (I-285). Lots of big hotels. Plus, Atlanta is coming up on the beer scene. I have a hard time remembering all of the microbreweries and brewpubs that have opened in the last five years.

I'll do it. All of a sudden the NYC area has a real burgeoning scene, plus regularly gets kegs from the nearby Hudson Valley brewers. Throw in some much-talked-about NJ brewers who would love to strut their stuff, as well as the older established guys, and you could put on a heck of a show from this region alone.

I line in Boston and travel to NYC for work frequently. Chicago is a bargain compared to these cities. And people are nice.

NYC was a craft beer wasteland even as recent as early 2012. Most of the best places that are in NYC opened in 2013. There's finally more than a few bars that are really representing craft beer well. I research craft bars and bottle shops in NYC every few weeks and I hear new names for shops every time I do so and bars every couple months. It's about damn time.

Minneapolis. We have an incredible beer boom here and a fantastic opportunity to bring in beers from the midwest. Minnesota community would get behind it and support well.

San Diego. Yeah, San Diego would probably be a great place for it. But Southern California is god awful expensive. More spent on airfare and hotels, less there is for beer and food and more beer. It makes me think of NHC. Ya could look up all the places where NHC has been held (like Cincinnati, OH)

I would totally drive to Baltimore for this. I can't pinpoint it exactly, but I feel a real connection with Baltimore. It's my second favorite city after NYC and the only other city I "love." Plus, if it was held here everyone could check out Max's Taphouse, which is hands down the best craft beer bar I've ever been to.

    Grand Rapids is my choice.
Because it is beer city U.S.A. is a pretty good reason, and the amount of awesome breweries in fairly close proximity is another good reason.

Nice to hear. Yeah, Baltimore is kind of like the red-headed step-child of the East Coast/Mid-Atlantic. We get passed over for the likes of DC, Philly, NY, and NOVA. Maryland just has so much character and Baltimore so much to offer. Obviously, Max's would be the ground-zero for related fest events. You could hold it at the BCC (Baltimore Convention Center), where Otakon is held (the largest fest that is held there to my knowledge) but is moving to DC in 2017. It is centrally located between all the places that usually steal events from us (i.e. touring bands skipping us). I think that having a big Beer Fest in MD, would really ignite a spark in our local craft scene (we got all the kindling ready).
