I think the Gov is trying to put a bit of backspin on that faux pas. Those of us in Windham County (his home turf) in the south end of the state may have to invite him to McNeill's or Whetstone Station to wean him off the American Legion choices to which he had grown accustomed. Frankly, I was quite appalled at the statement when I heard it!

    Keep em coming, rich.

I wonder if Mark D'Angelo is somehow related to my family from MA. He certainly looks like a D'Angelo judging from the blog post. Haha.

The Nimbys are just prolific in VT and NH, even MA, and Southern Maine. Anywhere with vacation homes is a war zone.

Jen related to me how many employees in the service industry in Stowe commute daily from the Northeast Kingdom which has a lot of low-income folks. The Kimmich's are top-notch employers so this brewery will make for some decent wages for those people.

I have a vacation condo on Cottage Club Rd and I am thrilled to be so close to the proposed building! More traffic coming into Stowe means more cash coming into Stowe. People will want lunch, dinner and maybe even shop a little. More importantly we may get a few more people renting our condo! Too many businesses have closed their doors the last few years, this brewery and the Trapps will have a positive effect on local business. I love me some Heady Topper and I look forward to trying more of their beers. Welcome to Stowe Alchemist!

Fields like Pete's Greens have in Craftsbury... :grinning:

In reality, insurance/accounting, IT, software development, engineering and some manufacturing.

Wow. That would be a lousy commute, especially in bad weather.

And it usually is bad weather except for a few weeks this time of year (wait, we still have the flash floods...).

There's only two seasons up north: winter and road work season.

A little more news of critical progress on the local permit front, in the papers... The Stowe Selectboard, wearing their water and sewer commissioner hats, have granted The Alchemist its allocations for the Cottage Club Road site. This is the last required approval from the town, a prerequisite for a complete application to the District 5 Environmental Commission - the Vermont State Act 250 review.
