Haha Awesome. Seriously this is an incredibly stupid question.

I don't think it's a stupid question at all. It's just a matter of what you've grown accustomed to. I've grown accustomed to organizing my life around Saturday being a day of rest. Thus, I relax and do fun stuff on Sunday. Believe me, if it an event were on Sunday, and people were interested, they would go.

This has got to be the one of the dumbest threads I've read in a long time.

No one fucks with your weekends if you're an atheist. Worth considering......

Pretty much every state now allows it to some degree at the state level but there are still lots of Sunday restrictions such as not before noon, or by local option only, only for on premises consumption, etc. etc. Incredibly variable across all the states, etc.

I'm not sure when Rhode Island started allowing alcohol sales on Sundays, but it was recent. Within the last 10 years for sure. It's restricted though. Liquor stores are only allowed to open from Noon to 6:00 PM (as opposed to normal operating hours which I believe is 10 AM-10 PM). I think stores in Providence are allowed to open one hour earlier. Or at the very least, the place I go to is opening before noon on Sundays, ha!

You must not work Monday-Friday... I'm not a huge fan of getting shit faced on Sunday and getting up for work 5:00AM Monday morning. Can't say it hasn't happened tho.. :astonished:

I do work M-F. I don't get wrecked on Sundays because I have family responsibilities. But in college I sure as hell did.

Drinking beer all day isn't resting?

I work every Saturday. But that's because I work in the beer business and most people drink on Saturday. I also host a beer festival in October every year and its held on a Thursday night. It sells out every year at 600+ attendees. So, not all beer fests are on Saturdays.

I'm confused as to why you're so puzzled. As someone who works Monday through Friday and as someone who has family responsibilities on Sundays, you sound like you're in a schedule that is quite similar to most beeradvocates. Yet you are puzzled as to why events are usually on Saturday. This is confusing to me. Given your work schedule and responsibilities to family, it sounds as if Saturdays are optimal days for drinking a few beers for you too. Now, if you choose not to drink on Saturdays because of some additional self-impossed restrictions, that's fine. But to be baffled by the fact that beer events are happening on Saturdays is rather puzzling to me.

Regardless of your ability to go and partake in anything Saturday...number wise, more people are off on that day, coupled with Sunday, making it easier to take off on a Friday and/or Monday, creating a "long" weekend for the majority of the working population, making it easier to travel?

    I assumed everyone new this?

Of course I always wondered why the Super Bowl was on at 6:00 pm on a Sunday...the following Monday should either be a national Holiday or they should move the SB to Saturday evening so the entire nation can get a day of rest...what a wasted Monday day of work!

I think the feel of this thread has gotten a bit far from what I had originally intended.
