I also assume you are right but if that would have been the basis to his question in the original post the thread would have been pulled immediately for religious overtones?

Very little tolerance for anything relevant...

I stand by my answer in an above post...regardless of anyone's personal situation...Saturday is the most optimal day due to the number of people who can participate...economics and simple math...nothing more.

Yeah agreed with you mate. My first post on here alluded to the same. All in all a very confusing thread haha

    Certainly not this:
I did not say I was baffled by it; I was just curious about the pervasiveness of it all. Perhaps the rigidity of my weekly existence has rendered me somewhat closed-minded regarding how average folk operate, but that doesn't make the question stupid or the answer obvious. It might be stupid or obvious to some of you, but not to everyone.

If the first response had been something like
then the whole thread might have made more sense.

That is true but then I wouldn't go to work on Monday? That is just me...I like my Saturday beer fests.

Wait. This thread about why beer events are often scheduled on Saturdays is 3 pages long?

Sounds just find with me...I need a place to go and eat on the weekends...thank God someone else is working...just for the record, I tip rather well.

One other thing...some don't really consider those two "jobs"...but rather stepping stones to jobs...I've done both...several times...and am a better person for it.

Here are a couple statistics that contradict your statement:
    • Employed persons worked an average of 7.6 hours on the days they worked. More hours were worked, on average, on weekdays than on weekend days--7.9 hours compared with 5.5 hours. (See table 4.)
    • Many more people worked on weekdays than on weekend days: 83 percent of employed persons worked on an average weekday, compared with 34 percent on an average weekend day. (See table 4.)

Great sourcing...is rather simple, less weekends days than weekdays (2/5) and most people, if they can would rather get off early on the weekend? Thanks for the stats!

I'm not sure if this is the worst thread ever or the greatest. I'm leaning towards the worst, and if everyone is getting trolled, this is a true masterpiece...perhaps the best...Biff take note. Either way, it's quite an accomplish to get this type of response from something so mind numbingly obvious.

It's not even the fact that there are more weekdays than weekend days; it's that even in the service industry, most places are open during the week. So the majority of people, even if they happen to work weekends too, probably work some mix of weekdays and/or weeknights. It's why we have something called "rush hour," why kids go to school Monday through Friday, why we have something called "business hours" and "business days," why we even have the words weekend and weekday... essentially, why the entire global economy is set up the way it is.

I'm still struggling to comprehend how this is a thread.

I work M-F but would consider taking the day off if there was a solid release/event going down during the week. Depending on how many days you get off in a year, maybe just take a vacation day if you want off? I am sure a lot of BA's on here work Saturdays and do the same. How many releases/events do you go to in a year?

Is this the first time you've realized that a lot of weekend things happen on Saturday? There aren't many weekend day options
