    I have had this same thought a few times. There are some folk on BA who, though only interacting by posts and maybe trades/gifts, I consider friends, and really no less of friends than those I have in real life (i.e. off the internet).

    Internet friends can indeed be real friends. I recently had a visit from a friend I made on another kind of site and we had a blast, she drank a lot of beer too (had to say that as this is a beer site). My friend is from Canada and she tells me she never drinks Canadian beer while in the US because the stuff they export here isn't the same (read that as not as good) as the same brand in Canada.
