Warmed my heart to read this article today:

    http://my.chicagotribune.com/#section/545/article/p2p-80972471/

Too early to be excited about Black Friday?

Bourbon County Brand Stout: Same as always.

Prop: Panela sugar made into syrup with coconut water, Cassia bark (cinnamon), and cocoa nibs.

Vanilla Rye: Aged in rye barrels from four different distilleries (with two pounds of vanilla beans in each barrel) and then blended together.

Coffee: Made with Intelligentsia Rawandan coffee.

Barleywine: Aged in third-use barrels (first held Kentucky bourbon, then BCBS, then the barleywine).

I know there was speculation about Vanilla going into 4 pks but now that we know it is Vanilla Rye I would say 22 oz is what we will see.

    Edit - Article confirms it.

I would love to get my hands on some of that Vanilla Rye. That would make fighting Black Friday crowds/traffic completely worth it, even if I *accidentally-on-purpose* fail to purchase any other gifts that day haha.

Cool !! I'm always exited to see how the Bourbon County and variants turn out.I usually just like the regular BCBS the most (I know I'm boring) I wonder if it will be easier to get than last year ?

I think that will, unfortunately, be a no to your question. For the past 3-4 years, the amount of new people getting into this game has far exceeded any production increase imo. Actually, it does seem a bit easier to get regular Bourbon County but anything else is tough.

For those of us out west any of them being a bit easier to get is good news.

Awesome! Where I live we only saw BCBS and BCBBW. Did not see one bottle of the coffee or the backyard. Hopefully I can land my hands on some coffee and vanilla rye this year.

how does this black friday thing work?

Are there literally lines of people lining up at liquor stores early in the morning?

I would like a game plan here but don't really know where to start.

Is heading to Chicago a sure way to get my hands on this stuff? If so, where do I go?

    Thanks.

If they hadn't expanded distro last year to the entire nation it would be a lot easier to get. BCBS was everywhere for over a month 2 years ago.

Yes to the lines. Long lines. No guarantee of anything. Some places do a raffle drawing for the bottles they have since there are more people than bottles. Others just sell what they have with bottle limits until it's gone.
