[IMG] 4.7% alcohol. Introduced in possibly 2010. Contract-brewed in Pennsylvania.

Since the discovering of American Stouts I am seldom impressed by European stouts. But this one, is amazing. De Molen - Moord & Brand (Rum Barrel Aged). The rum is very intense without any booze present. The dark complex roast is paired by a gentle fruity sweetness of the rum. Lots of raisins and other dark fruits. Thick, creamy mouthfeel backs it all up. Barrel ageing of this one is just magnificent. It beats the crap out of every Hel & Verdoemenis version I have had (and I had a lot of them). It's paired by a Moord & Brand Bourbon Barrel Aged version which does not impress like this one does.
If you find one, grab one.

Until today, I've had Scotch ales but no Scottish ales... :astonished:
--> I've also had Scotch, but that's another story

Worked a double yesterday and went shopping for camping gear right after. Was too tired to stay awake long enough to even have a beer yesterday so I'm starting early today.

Four Barrel beans (local roaster), grind em, about maybe 2-3 oz of French vanilla cream poured in the cup first, grounds in a "mug mate" tea/coffee filter placed into cup, slowly pour boiled water over the grinds/filter til the cup is full, stir grinds gently, then let rest about 3.5 minutes. that's what it looks like un-agitated. once you stir it all up it looks like, regular ole'... "coffee & cream".
