Rainy and overcast all weekend. Staying home and joing you camp freaks. Torpedo pilsner to start. Clean, hoppy, and refreshing,

I would, too. I thought Maillard's Odyssey and Double Latte were delicious; Electric Ray and Chico King were right up my alley; and the rest (so far, although I have 3 to go, I believe) have been solid. The only one that didn't sit well with me was CANfusion (I respectfully disagree with @TongoRad's assessment on that one; I thought it was muddled and canFUSED). But would I buy that sampler again, at that price, to try those representations of those various styles? Yep.

Perennial La Bohème. Wild Ale aged two years in wine barrels with Michigan tart cherries. Thank you for this amazing extra @DooshBagalow. Cheers!

That was definitely the most simple and straightforward of the ones I've had- just a plain-ish bock with some rye spiciness to it. I guess the difference lies in that I thought it was a nice beer to slug back, and you didn't think the flavors worked well together. I guess we'd both agree, though, that it is probably the last one Marie should be in the lookout for. Plus your top two coincide with my top selections so far as well, so those are probably the ones to get.

    Cheers!

If you can do it...pick up a 12 and drink one a day...first beer of the day and reflect. Don't bother with everyone's reviews...each brew is very good on it's own platform...expectations are way to high for this collaboration and anyways this is a jaded bunch who tends to over react when asked for an opinion (me included)

That grapefruit sculpin was a lot of action. There was definitely grapefruit. Now onto this. I got it in a trade and grabbed it cuz it was canned. Actually quite refreshing while catching some rays.

I got very little rye, which undoubtedly would have improved the overall experience. Instead, I got muted bread and fruit up front, and tons of overripe, slightly sour and tart fruit on the back; a little citric acid and grapefruit peel. It was just an odd mix that didn't quite do it for me, although I wouldn't venture to say it was at all bad.

The other one that others seem to love which I did not (based on a 5 oz on-tap sample) was Torpedo Pilsner. Most people seemed disappointed that Electric Ray and Chico King weren't hoppy enough, but I thought they were spot-on for what they were going for (I don't need every beer to be a hop bomb). But Torpedo Pilsner was just all around kind of "ehh" to me.

Like you, I still think the box is well worth the cash. Just drinking 12 solid beers of diverse styles, instead of all IPAs, or, "Hey, it's Summer; better drink Hefes!" made it worth it to me.

Or be like me and tour the camp in an evening. Good beers. Get a box for the experience then move forward.

I'm still on the fence about the Torpedo Pilsner. That's the one I was most looking forward to, and while I enjoyed it I didn't think it lived up to my (very high) expectations. That's one reason why I got the second box- I think I can be a little more even handed the next time around.
