    Don't usually break out the thistle glass in the summer, but this Scottish ale calls for the proper glassware. I'm kinda disappointed, though. This was my second most anticipated offering from this 12 pack. I was expecting more. More peat. More smoke. Usually love the style. This just missed the mark.

    Jealous all around.. Would love to try a HF beer.. That, and get to pick my own hops AND use that bottle opener JR made for you.. He put me on a list, but it's been a long while, I'm sure I'll never get around to getting one. Really diggin it!

    Probably my favorite beer ever. Hits the dark craving, the sour, the fruit and the bourbon barrel all in one.

    I try and stock up on it during the summer.

    FWIW, it's a pretty spot on example of a Scotch Ale. They don't include peat smoked malt, because real scotch ales don't include peat smoked malt. It's something a few american brewers do, to replicate what the yeast tosses ester wise. Chances are, SN didn't use a really phenol laden strain to ferment it with. It was a solid beer though, my favorite, but I've only had 3-4 of the pack so far.
