Ha, just came in here to post about that. Does it count though, since we didn't bat in the bottom of the ninth?

@jshusc please wrap my BVDL in extra large bubble wrap and one hundred dollar bills.

@RayUF07 I feel like I should send you some beer. Did Dombrowski pledge Smyly, Jackson, and a Short's variety pack?

I believe I join @jshusc and @AndrewSmith on the only needing 12 runs to finish this thing out.

I would said yes since I never said you couldn't win twice.

Ah ha! I was wondering why my alert said 6th team since '78. I swore when I looked it up scoring in all 9 innings has only happened twice in baseball history.

Yeah, i guess i hope it works out like the Doyle Alexander trade did for Atlanta in 1987.

Oh, and yes, Franklin is the equivalent to a Short's variety pack.

I thought they had to score all 9 innings to win? I see 8. BIF still alive?

They scored in every inning they participated in offensively. Spirit of the law earns @JamesShoemaker a box. If someone else does it in all 9 innings, I'll consider a second box.

I'm still sort of shocked it happened. That's pretty damn impressive.

It's very impressive, just not as impressive as doing it in 9 innings.

So, hypothetically then, should a team score in the first 5 innings and then the game gets called due to rain, would that win the BIF? It's an official game and the team scored in every inning played.

If the BIF called for scoring in all 9 innings, there really shouldn't be any room for anything less. It's not my BIF though, so do as you wish sir!

Phils pulling me back into the shutout mini with a weekend chock full o' ineptitude!

In my mind the Phillies suck, so even if they don't have the most shutouts I'll interpret it as if they do and pronounce them the winners via invoking the spirit of the law clause.

Hypothetically, that might have won the BIF. But it didn't, so luckily I don't have to deal since the BIF was for the FIRST team to do it. Although if another team has what someone believes to be a qualifying entry, I'll hear argument and assess my generosity accordingly.

I commend your generosity, I'm just saying that there has not been a team to score in all 9 innings of a game yet, so in theory there has not been a first team yet. However, it is your BIF so you can award a winner however you see fit.

Yeah, I'd rather cross my fingers and figure that it won't happen again than have to tell James that he loses because he's the home team. James needs some beer, I'mma gonna give it to him! If it happens again, worst case scenario is another BA gets some brews. Hooray Beer!
