VSP details

This is a good point. If there's one thing the Careys have made very clear, it's that being a good neighbor to the local community is important to them, and having a bunch of beerhounds showing up before the crack of dawn definitely doesn't fall into the "being a good neighbor" category.

 

Is the base beer of VSP the same as Oud Bruin?

 

We had that discussion in the New Glarus Upcoming Beers thread. Consensus was, "Probably not."

08/09/14: New Glarus Founders Dan and Deb Carey where trampled to death today in NG parking lot. They foolishly tried to give out tickets to people by hand but where quickly mobbed. The beer depot became a free for all, Wisconsinites pelting the encroaching FIB's with fresh cheese curds to try to fend them off, the squeaking was defining. The FIB's used their mules as human shields while making a grab for as much Wild Peach as they can get. The bottles quickly disappear and the butthurt number in the 100's. The beer nerds migrate in defeat back to their homes all the while feeling the sting of their failure.

As the dust settles a lone FIB opens a Wild Peach in the parking lot and pours it into the most pretentious Teku money can buy. He brings the glass to his nose, short sharp sniffs. The moment of truth he swirls his glass then takes a swig and says..............meh I liked VSB better.

 

That's because VSB had a few thousand less bottles...you can smell and taste the rarity!

If people started showing up around 0600 - 0700 AM I wouldn't be surprised if Dan and or Deb came down and hung out/said hello. Where the brewery is located the only people you'd be bothering is them, and I doubt they'd care too much..
