Last years 3-Way was damn good. This is even better.

Yes. Just poured a nearly flat can that was canned on 7/15/14. Before this all four 4-packs had been consistently amazing. Anyone else have flat pours?

I had some from that canning date last night--- amply carbonated. This is a great beer. They really aught to keep it going. I hope I haven't had my last 3-way.

I think this was the batch made when HotD temporarily subbed in for Block 15 <rimshot>

I've gone through about 10 - 4 packs now and not a single complaint here. Its been equally tasty at home, on the beach, on the golf course yesterday, just a damn fine brew.

Follow up question to the group:
When 3-way runs its distribution course (God have mercy) - what canned IPA will you be reaching for?

I second this. I have had a tasty dozen four packs and enjoyed them everywhere I go. I have a golf weekend coming up and I usually take my time to plan the beers I am going to bring for the courses. This year is easy - 3 way with a big stout to wake up with (ten fidy I figure). I should probably bring a cleansing beer. Anderson valley gose has been a summer favorite.

I don't have another go to canned ipa. I do enjoy the caldera ipa. Most of my go to IPAs are in the bottle: Union Jack, double jack, workhorse, citrus mistress, racer 5......always in the fridge.

Fremont cans. What do you mean their expansion will take more than two weeks?

only available cans I know of worth drinking are fromont the brother (bigger and maltier), goodlife descender. I honestly have not tried the rest of the Fort George line (vortex and suicide squeeze and such)

I'd probably have go back to laurelwood workhorse as the go to, with an occasional double jack, and a RPM or Hop venom growler fill on occasion.

I'm up for suggestions as well if anyone wants to give them out. Typically 4-6 pk options as I've tried all the bombers and try to stay away due to price point.

If you don't mind stepping down in ABV, Fremont's Summer Ale and Session Pale and Bale Breaker's Field 41 still throw off some juicy hops. Tricerahops 4pks should still be relatively fresh.

Split another growler of this fine beer with the wife tonight, and it remains fantastic. For all my ambitions to be drinking stouts in September, I will be DAMN sorry when this beer is gone.

Latest release is a can date of 7/30, hows that for freshness!!! Anyone else notice this particular batch was much more cloudy and to me by far better in every other aspect than when it was just released?? I mean when it first came out i was kinda "its great but didnt blow me away"; but this batch is definitely a masterpiece. Seeing as though the only brewery that has been in it both years is Fort George, I can actually taste a touch of fort georges contribution in this batch, cause in the taste for a split second, i can remember last years 3-way which was great as well! My point is: the 7/30 batch is most spectacular, most spectacular indeed!!!

The more posts I see in this thread, the more I think Fort George will find some way to add this to their permanent lineup. This beer is currently #29 on the most popular IPAs list, up from #34 on Friday (though I suspect this list is in constant flux). In fact, just a couple hours ago it was right above Fat Head's Head Hunter, and it has moved up a few more notches since then. They have the recipe dialed in, so it seems all they need to do is keep making it, whether it's under this name or something different.

    Any objections?

Thats what I'm thinking/hoping, are they really going to retire this recipe, that people are really digging, forever after this huge success/seasonal has moved through? Doubtful

If we're talking specifically about IPAs, then it's Topcutter.

As amazing as they both are, they're pales, and Fremont Summer is almost done for the year.

But yes, Field 41 is my go-to year round best canned beer known to man.

Even if they want to keep brewing it (and why wouldn't they?) it's contingent upon them getting a contract for a shitload of Mosaic hops. Boneyard was able to give them enough for 8 batches (I believe the 7/30 cans are batch 6), so at the very least they'll probably have to put it on a short hiatus until after the harvest.

Also, since someone asked about the recipe, I got in touch with their sales rep and he gave me some more info:

    Hops:
    Mosaic
    Citra
    Chinook

    Malts:
    Organic 2-Row
    Flaked Corn
    C15
    Aromatic

    Yeast:
    London ESB

Unfortunately I couldn't get a hopping schedule or other info, but the addition of flaked corn helps explain the light body.
