Craft beer made me realize there are other beers that are better than Budweiser, MGD, Coors, Heineken, Rolling Rock, and when I was younger, Mickey's, St. Ides, and Old English. Getting into craft beer, unbeknownst to me until later in life, helped me understand there is a separate beer culture, inside and outside of the macro beer scene. I am sure most of us here are not just micro or macro guys, but a little bit of both. At first it seemed like a new fad, like Mexican food and coffee. Now it's a norm like Mexican food and coffee. The options and choices surrounding craft beer are phenomenal. Just take a look around this site, this all revolves around her, and is a testament to her power over you. Not me

Nonetheless, getting into micro-beer has made me leave the macro-beer. She has also helped me spend way too much money on something I do not need. I have enough beer in my make-shift beer cellar to last some people a lifetime. I just keep trading and collecting. Where did that money for my new running shoes go? Craft has also helped me realize that she, although tasting better than macros, can also make you sick and give you a hangover. Even though she tastes delicious, she can still be wicked and sinister. Craft beer gives me something to look forward to at the end of a long work day, or if I'm drying out, at the end of another 48 hours.

In the end, I love craft. She has added another dimension to my addictive life.

I would hope you wouldn't call craft a male if you are male. If you did, I wouldn't care...just saying.

It's made me gain 15 pounds or so in the past 6 months... (that's when I discovered my local bottle shop)

I leave her in the cellar for months at a time.

Personally I think it's better to refer to beer as 'it'

What has craft beer done for me other than destroying my bank account and increasing my shirt size?

Now, on a serious note, craft opened my eyes to the fact that beer can be more than just a vessel to inebriation.

My Craft beers sneak out of the fridge when I'm sleeping and shorten my belt.

Craft beer has shaped my adult life.

It was one of a few things that brought my friends and I closer together (along with sports). Going every Monday to the Flying Saucer for pint nite and enjoying their company is something I will always appreciate for as long as I live. Even the weeks where the beer was basic, the time I spend is something I'll always cherish.

Craft beer gives me this sense of excitement that few things in life ever gave me. The feeling of a new beer to add to the list is unbelievable.

Lastly, in a city starved for craft beer and craft beer bars, it gives me a goal that I would like to bring something greater to the local craft beer scene. Whether it's truly realistic or not is irrelevant, it gives me hope.

Craft beer is beautiful. Embrace it. Love it. Share it.

I always get a kick out of these threads that are of course written by folks who are realivity young. as if craft beer was just invented in 1976. Folks I got a news flash for you, good beer was made LONG before Americans started making it. I should know I was drinking it before the term was invented.

That said it did make the liquor store start selling more and better beer, but that really did not happen until the late 1990's early 2000's.

the answer those to the quiz is broke, and a tad rounder. and happy.
