Honestly, given me a career. Never had a real plan/path, now I just dont know where it will take me but thankfully there is good beer everywhere and good people to enjoy it with.

Craft beer introduced me to social media sites like BA and Facebook. It has helped me to maintain an atmosphere of civility in my day as I always take the time for at least one beer each day. It has caused me to gain weight. It also has introduced me to a group of people I am happy to call my friends. I love the idea that when people come to Ithaca they will look me up and that if I were to travel to their fair cities they would greet me as well. There's just something so "old world friendly" about that.

Made me believe in society again. Beer culture is 99% ass hole free and I've met some awesome people I enjoy hanging around with through craft.

"She" introduced me to some new good friends. Either the local beer gurus at the local bottle shops, or just people I've met at bottle shares or social media. Pretty cool (and tasty too).

It also let me find a lot of little nooks and crannies in my house that I could hide recently purchased beer from my wife.

Taught me moderation. As a student you really can't go out and get super hammered on the stuff, as a social drinker I also reserve most of it for occasions like friends coming over, New Year's, christmas, birthdays, house parties and so on.

Also taught me you don't have to pay shitloads of money for good booze. (think of what Scotch and wine lovers have to pay)

really wow, I been drinking a long long time, craft, micro whatver you want to call it. Give folks booze and out comes the nasty. Yes many are really nice but 99%, not even close. lol:grimacing::grimacing::grinning:

talking drinkers in general now. Plus I know a certain pub in Decatur, ga. Full of some very opinionated folks, that some would call assholes.....:grinning::grinning::grinning::grinning:

I Kidd of course.. still I think the percent is a tad higher than 1% YMMV and its just my 2 cents.

Allowed me to appreciate variety of various tastes from around the globe. It's amazing to taste different aspects of an IPA, Wit, Porter, Stout, and other beer styles from various regions. West coast versus East coast versus Midwest versus Southern versus various imports etc. Sure it cost money, but so does every other form of entertainment.

When I travel for my job or vacation, I seek out the breweries as my tourist attractions and enjoy as many varieties as possible, shipping back some and sharing them with my friends.

Craft beer has given me a fun hobby. I don't have very many hobbies but craft beer is a great social one. I've always liked to drink, but I can do it trying new things and meeting people all over.

The culture in craft beer is amazing. Everyone is so welcoming and even the breweries help the other breweries almost like a friendly competition but not trying to put the other out of business.

The only other thing it has done is take up room in my fridge. When my friends come over and decide to barge my fridge they wonder why its 70% beer and not enough snacks for them...

Got me to come on here, share my love of beer and join in some discussions about it

Also, gave me something new to delve into and learn more about. Back in my teens when Ice House was considered "something new," I never cared what went into it or how it was made. Beer nowadays has a much richer story and more interesting brewing process. I guess I was fortunate too that I never drank (most of the time) to just get wrecked, I liked the flavor and appreciated the different tastes that were slowly beginning to trickle out with each new brewery opening.

Now it's a great way to get together since we all have wives and most have kids. Once a month we do a bottle share and though we probably can't tell you exactly what we are tasting in order of the flavors that reach our mouth, we don't really care so much as it's all about the tasty beverage and that we're enjoying it together.

...it's also made me quite the collector over the years and though I never have more than forty bombers tucked away at a time, I'm always searching for that great new taste and that's an incredibly exciting moment. Just found Clown Shoes - Ride the Lion over last weekend and good gracious is that awesome !

Craft beer and coffee taught me how to open my eyes and look for quality products and educate myself about where to spend money.
