the team at trillium couldn't be happier to be the featured brewer for this year's Armsby Abbey anniversary dinner this year. when Alec asked if we would be interested a few months ago, I fell out of my chair. then I got up and came up with a recipe for double pot&kettle and wiggled a 1.5bbl pilot batch in to the brew schedule to give it enough time to mature and condition a bit. then alec and damian sent us the menu w/ pairings last week. fell out of my chair again. who's been to one of their dinner's in the past...and who's going this year? http://armsbyabbey.com/2014/08/trillium-anniversary-dinner-826/ Every August we closeout our Anniversary celebration by hosting a beer dinner with one of our favorite breweries; 2014 we welcome local favorites Trillium Brewing from Boston! I went to the Hill Farmstead dinner in 2012 and it was FANTASTIC. I would imagine this year will be no different especially with the newer kitchen and more seating. Plus, there were a few real special beers (f'ing LOU PEPE KRIEK) on tap before and after the dinner. @JCTetreault , do you happen to know the cost for a ticket?
I think they were targeting ~80-90, but best bet is to call (not sure how many tickets are left, actually)
Won't be going this year, but I was at the hill farmstead dinner also. It was the single most interesting meal I've ever eaten. The beer was obviously stellar as well, as I'm sure it will be this year with Trillium at the wheel. @mikeywtc is also right in saying there tend to be some nice surprises too.
Double Pot and Kettle? Heavy Mettle (congrats on the naming genius with this one)? DD Congress? How to swing this...
Called to get my tickets last Saturday morning.....I was so excited they answered the phone at 9:15AM to take the reservation. Can't wait...hoping some Trillium folks will be in the house.
I will be there. I can't wait. Trillium = AMAZING, Armsby Abbey = AMAZING, put the two together for a special dinner = PHENOMENAL!
I think I saw a post that there was a cancellation so there might be a couple of spots, call tomorrow
I attended this last night and it was an excellent event. My original purpose of going was to support Trillium, but I was able to kill two birds with one stone since I'd never been to Armsby Abbey. I really enjoyed AA and it struck me as a great place to drink/eat on a regular basis. Lucky are those that live a lot closer than I do to it. The event in particular was very well done. I thought the food and service were outstanding. I thought Chef Damian did a great job with each course that went with each beer. I had all the beers before except for Double Pot & Kettle (made especially for this event) so that was just icing on the cake. I definitely will keep my eye out for future events at AA and hopefully be able to squeeze in a few non-event visits here and there. Of course, I'll also to continue drink countless amounts of Trillium beer.
Absolutely outstanding event. Kyle and Eric killed it as usual behind the bar. Loved Esther's talk. Thanks to Sherry, Alec, Damian and the staff.
