Avery 5 Monks getting approval is a pretty good sign, depending on how many cases there are to go around of course.

Wonder what Goose Island The Muddy is all about. All I could find is it's 9%, in 12oz bottles, and they used brewer's licorice.

I have some thoughts on this:
    • So uncreative. Why can't Saint Arnold do things that are more innovative, like a Caramel Apple Ale.
    • Seriously? The last Icon Gold from Saint Arnold's, which I bought from Kroger's and drank with a donut from Shipley's at the Barnes and Noble's near River Oaks's was the worst/best/most mediocre of the series. Why would they recycle the color given that?
    • Using wheat in this beer is just further proof that Saint Arnold is cutting with bread.
    • Mandarina?! I think they're just ripping off BuffBrew's Blood Orange Wit.
    • Mandarina?! Why doesn't SA use more interesting hops like Motueka or Calypso? Gosh so boring.
    • Mandarina?! This is America, speak English!
    • I just don't understand how with a label approval like this, all the fanboys on this forum can continue to wave the Saint Arnold flag and claim they're so wonderful. They shouldn't be on any best of list. Wake up, sheeple.

They may not be on my best beer list but I appreciate everything they've done for craft beer in Texas and I think they're a wonderful way to break into the craft world as a beginner. I can see why some of there beer wins awards and they have some great beer for sitting poolside. With that being said, I look forward to the next ICON release as I'm trying to complete my ICON glassware set

    Creative doesn't always equal good.
All of the Icon series I've tried I've enjoyed. Maybe they are not top 100 beers in the world quality, but they have been a nice change from the standard SA beers.
What do you have against wheat?
Mandaria is a German hop derived from Cascade - "Distinct tangerine and citrus flavors."
See above, if that isn't interesting I'm not sure what you're looking for. German hops don't have flavors like this normally, which makes the hop interesting.
