#10 Tater Ridge at Mizzou Beer Camp. One of my favorite styles, a Scottish Ale made with sweet potatoes. 7% ABV but no heavy alcohol heat...actually I wish it was a little sweeter and a little more boozy but that is the way I like my SAs.

Camp is coming to an end and I'm feeling the weight of the inevitable...

Enjoyed a nice DFH 90 min with lunch at Mo's Burgers and Brews; I love getting that beer fresh on tap.

Now I'm trying out a new beer for me: La Luna Rossa, by Italy's Birrificio Del Ducato.

It's a completely flat beer, but that seems intentional. Very odd, and it takes some getting used to. All that said, this is a potent, potent sour. Just enough fruit keeps it from coming across as straight vinegar. Tons of oak. Pretty tasty, but that flat mouthfeel means I won't likely be coming back to it.

    Cheers, BAs!

Since I don't have a flute or pilsner glass I was just going to stare at it and imagine drinking it. I figured just pouring it into a tulip might be a small step up from that.

I'm probably overcompensating as usual, but after a weekend filled with sub-par pre/post wedding booze, I figured I needed something to reset my palate back to the finer points of beer life.

Definitely has wasabi, not super heat from it though. Not akin to a chili beer. More spiciness seems to be from the hops too. The wasabi adds a nice rootiness.

This poured a nice semi-translucent golden color with a very white, foamy finger and a half of head. Instantly, I could smell the west coast hops. The taste has good hop character and a subtly maltiness with a nutty finish. Overall, I'm enjoying this one! 3.8/5
