    Craft beer is the perfect storm. It has risen to popularity in the most recent years as a result of the downtrodden economy mixed with the yearning of supporting local and eating fresh.
    It affords complicated and distinctive flavors and varieties at a price point (mostly) that the common man (and lady) can afford. Bourbon County Stouts and Dark Lord's, Heady Toppers (name dropping) are the fine wine of our time.
    More local breweries are able to build and afford locations because real estate is cheaper. They are building and brewing closer to home like family restaurants used to.
    People long for cleaner foods. Fresher products and local flavor. It doesn't get any better than having a Revolution Anti Hero the week it's boxed up and shipped out. No Waiting !
    That is why I drink beer. NO! That is why I TASTE Craft Beer (Really though, I drink it-tasting just sounds snootier) !

    It is an exciting industry, with new developments that I can partake in every week. Because I love food, all of it, and beer is food. Because my love of wine has made beer so much more interesting than it used to be, as my palate continues to develop. Because the community is made up of such wonderful, knowledgeable, witty nerds, that truly love the brewing art.

    For the same reason I drink coffee. I enjoy the taste. With beer it's got an added flair of something "ritualistic". A light buzz can also make parties a bit more social.
