    From their newsletter...

    Blank Growlers are Official

AleSmith now fills 32 oz and 64 oz capacity blank growlers - stainless steel and glass only, no plastic containers. The growlers can even be from your other favorite brewery as long as the ENTIRE LABEL/LOGO is COMPLETELY obscured with painter's tape, duct tape, etc. Either way, our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to enjoy our hand forged ales.

Now more excited for my next SD beer run. Cheers!

That's awesome. I hope more big breweries follow suit. Then I can start shopping for a bad ass blank growler

Maybe if we stop buying growlers from the brewery's they will get it? Or not. Beachwood, Noble, Stone, ESBC, Kern, Alpine, Rip Current, and yes you too RRBC.
Been down to the Alpine/SD area several times a year for the last 6 years maybe it's time I pay a visit to Alesmith.

It only took them what, a year and a half from when they first announced that they were studying it?

I saw SageO. But I was hoping for other brewery growlers. Stone will fill blanks but the same style as theirs.

I haven't gotten a fill in a while but I asked if my blank flip top SS growler i got from Societe was acceptable for growler fills and someone at Pasadena said it's fine.

I need to start bugging Paul at Rip Current about changing their policy.

Yes you should, I visit the in-laws in Vista often and I try to make it to Rip Current every time i'm there. Even though they're my favorite brewery in the area I'll probably be visiting them less now that Iron Fist, Latitude 33 and Belching Beaver are filling blanks.

As per SageO's link above, they are not filling blanks as of 8/6/14. Given your location and the fact that this is the Pacific forum, I am guessing you mean the CA brewery.

I've filled up several covered growlers there in the past year. I've even seen them fill non-covered growlers from other breweries too. Not sure who updates the list, but I can assure you they do.
