    +1 here. I would not have stuck with homebrewing if all I was after was Miller Lite. I began trying Guinness, Bass, PU and Sam Adams (closest thing to craft beer in the day that was accessible) in my early 20's (1992-1994) and then began homebrewing, beer judging and reviewing as a hobby that I've enjoyed ever since.

    For me I'd say closer to 30 pounds, but who's counting when the beer tastes so much better.

    Increased my creative writing skills by doing reviews.

    Increased my handicap about 3-4 strokes.

    Made me poorer and increased my tolerance. :stuck_out_tongue: It's definitely improved my tastes which extended to wines and scotches. Also, it's improves my options, normally I like have wine with dinner, but sometimes a beer is a better option as there a wider flavor palate. Oh and it definitely made me put on weight, speaking of which I need to get my fat butt to the gym now.

    WOW. Listen here 'err body. QUIT DRINKING FOR 2 MONTHS, exercise 6 days a week and start counting calories. When you pick up drinking again continue exercising and counting calories while "budgeting" calories for beer to maintain your now lowerered weight... sheesh.

    -Helped sculp this luscious stomach I got, mostly from not having time to work out with a newborn here now lol.

    -made my paychecks/profit sharing a tad bit better

    -the most important, made sales meetings much better

    opened my eyes to a whole new hobby. Because to me its not only just about drinking a bunch of different beers. Its about so much more. Discovering new beers, and learning how each beer is made and the story behind them. Then cellaring beer in hopes of achieving new and different flavors from a single beer.

    Then you got the whole homebrew aspect which is a complete different story!
