Killed my Beer Camp box yesterday (RIP), woke up depressed and decided to be lazy and watch a movie. Drinking my last GOT Fire and Blood (RIP) while I watched Oculus. Movie was decent but now I'm even more depressed...might need to detox this week :stuck_out_tongue::grinning::confused:

The only difference is that one says "Black Ale" another one "Porter", but it is in fact same exact beer. Sometimes it says "Dark Beer". Awesome stuff either way. There's a reason you're the only person to rate "Black Ale".

Good morning, BAs! Today, I'm embarking on a beer journey sure to spike my blood sugar level dangerously high! First, I'd better start off with some breakfast:

No fancy leftover ribeye this week, so I had to make do with sliced sausage links. Refritos con queso y Pete de Texas; eggs with cheddar, sausage, and more Texas Pete; and grapes. Yummy! With my stomach thus prepared, I soldiered on:

I'm scared. Someone hold my pancreas.

Southern Tier Creme Brulee. My daughter is actually in this picture, perfectly posed behind the bottle.

Details and review over on New Beer Sunday. Come join us!

Now that I've followed my own rule on what I'm drinking now, here are a couple beers I didn't have a chance to get to last night. Attended a good friend's 34th birthday party at the Daniel Packer Inne in Mystic. Nice place, but a very surprisingly nice tap and bottle list for beer!

Started off with a local beer: Cottrell Brewing's Mystic Bridge IPA. Named after the bridge....in Mystic....it's a solid if unspectacular IPA. Not a bad local option.

Love the DPI glasses. I want one!

They ran out of Rochefort 8 bottles, so I was forced to change up my plans. No worries: Goose Island Matilda on tap. A little oversweet, and slightly too much yeast, but other than that, a tasty accompaniment to a meal of Scallops Nantucket.

Cheers, BAs. I'll be back once my blood sugar stabilizes after that Creme Brulee!

    Long Trail Summer Ale

This is a very sessionable beer here. Poured a pale yellow color with a very white, soapy head. There's a good citrus hop aroma on it. Both the citrus hops and the pilsner malts come through subtly in the taste. It's not loaded with flavor, but then, what can you expect from a less-than-5% ale. Very drinkable. 3.5/5

Straight to Ale's (Huntsville, AL) International Space Saison aged in rum barrels. Probably the best nose on a beer ever. A fantastic sipper. Probably won't finish the entire bomber.

Since a lot of people have been talking about Saison Dupont I thought it would be a great time to try it. Well worth the wait.
