I recently picked up a six pack of Stone Coffee Milk Stout and so far the two that i've cracked both have had a strong metallic taste to them. Has anyone else had this problem?

The off flavor for me was the price. Couldn't stomach it and didn't buy it.

Do you drink very many bitter/high IBU beers? I haven't had it yet, but I've gotten plenty of "like sucking on a penny" remarks about some beers, especially IPA's a bit past their prime. And knowing Stone.. :stuck_out_tongue: But anyways, I hope you find your answer. Cheers!

Count me in. I didn't notice it on the first two I had, but when I had another bottle a few days later I definitely got a metallic taste. Thought it was my imagination - maybe not.

I think someone said the same thing about Go To when it first came out. Don't remember what the consensus was on that one.

I didn't notice a metallic taste, but I still didn't think it was all that good.

I noticed a bitterness that was lingering after I'd swallow each sip. Wasn't a pleasant coffee type of bitterness though.
I dont think Stone did all that well with this one.

Drinking one now. Maybe you had it too cold? Out of the fridge a bit acrid and metallic in the finish at first but I just equated that to the roasted coffee.

The ABV% seems kind of low for a stout. Anybody know if this will hit atlanta?

No metallic taste here. Try it with some some snickerdoodles. It's definitely roasty and smokey, but that doesn't necessarily = coffee to me.

    Tried three bottles on saturday.

Wasn't too impressed. Tasted more like an envelope of 3 in 1 instant coffee.

The Stone Sprocketbier was so much better in terms of texture and taste. Even tho it's not a stout is sure feels like one..

Just picked up a 6-pk in Jersey for $10.99 at Maro Brothers Liquors in Hainesport.

If it isn't so good, then I'll be sure to just toss it on some coffee grounds and recarbonate.
