This hasn't happened to me yet, but every time I go to the store I will get something different I haven't had along with an old standby just incase.

This is a really interesting thing you just brought up. While all of us I'm sure supports our local breweries to the best we can, I feel like there isn't a huge amount of "brand loyalty" like you would see in the soft drink industry or maco beer industry. Right now, it's almost as if we're throwing our money into a big pot for everyone as one giant community. I hope the "boom" never slows down but that's inevitable. I do have my favorite local brewery however and no matter what I always buy at least one of their beers on tap every time I see it.

Usually have 10-15 different brews in the fridge/cooler, so I do like variety. Recently, Dirt Wolf has come the closest to getting me stuck to one beer. Which reminds me, only one left in the fridge. Off to the distributor by by weekend.

Cheers to variety and to stability ::wink:

Getting stuck on Weinstephaner is the pinnacle of the beer tasting experience.

I went through a brief phase of that with Summit Horizon Red IPA, but only because I got a free case from the brewery. Normally, I don't drink the same thing from one glass to the next. That's why I love getting flights in the brewing expo at the MN State Fair (where I discovered Moo Joos and Steel Toe.)

It's not the only thing I'm drinking, but Fortunate Islands could be that beer if needed be.

Don't get me wrong guys, when Fall comes around I'm going to totally switch things up and get a little crazy - I'll be drinking plenty of Weihenstephaner Dunkelweizens for sure!

I feel like a broken record in some of these threads lol. Probably 2/3rd of what I drink is new stuff, still in that exploration phase and finding all of my seasonal/regular favorites. I could drink a few porters/stouts on a daily or weekly basis but would definitely want other beers in the mix as well. Even if they are great for the style, sessionable, and favorites, I may get bored of them if it was all I drank

I tend to keep a variety on hand, but I do consider the Goose Island 312 Wheat Ale my "fall-back" beer. I have a soft spot for it since it was the first craft beer I ever had.

As soon as I start drinking too much of same/favorite beer, it no longer is my favorite and I lose the taste for it. I need variety to appreciate.

I have to agree 100%!! I have also mainly been drinking Weihenstephaner beers, mostly the Original, all summer long. It's hard to want to buy something else when you already know what's the best.

I drink everything, but recently I've been drinking a lot of Double Trouble. In the past, I've always had 12 packs of Dales Pale in the fridge. Comes in cans, is convenient, and somewhat sessionable.

Right now I am in the "I have to try everything" mood. But I get it, Weihenstephaner makes incredible beers.

Absolutely, you've got to mix it up sometimes. I had a memorable stretch of drinking only Abrasive for about six weeks a year and a half ago. Since then I go through a couple months of avid reviewing and then taper off for a while and relax with one or two specific beers that I've been craving.

I used to try different beers everytime I made a purchase. Then I became hooked on IPA's. Then it was one brand. Then another, then another. But all IPA's all the time. Lately I have been back into the trying different beer kick. Actually I think I am trying to kick the IPA thing. I might be in search of good stout....we'll see. But as to the OP...yea.....I've been down the over and over road.

I'm 15 years into this hobby and I still feel like I'm missing something good if I drink two of the same thing in the same month.

I always experiment with new stuff. But I also always seem to have at least one 750ml bottle of La Fin du Monde on hand. I just can't resist it at $8/bottle.

Deschutes Fresh Squeezed. I try to pick up something new now and again, but this always seems to find itself in my glass.
