Germany (and Holland) trip- 2014

    Hey gang,

    Just thought I would throw this out there, in case any of you are in these areas on these dates...

    I will be in Munich from Sun, 21Sep to Wed, 24Sep.... (sorry, Stahl!). Will be hitting Weisses Brauhaus, Andechs, Forschungsbrau, as well as The Fest with old friend and fellow BA UncleAl.... Then I am off to Bamberg for 4 nights, 25-28Sep.... Plan to hit as much of the local scene as I can, plus a visit to Rothenburg to pay my respects to some dear, fallen friends (almost family). After that, it is off to Maastricht for 5 nights, 29Sep to 03Oct, before flying home from AMS..... If anyone is in/near these areas at these times, would love to meet, timempermitting... Had the pleasure to meet Matt (mjtierney) last year...

    Rothenburg ob der Tauber is somewhat near FFM. If you're driving through, or have a train that stops here, give me a holler and I'll show you a real Äppler.

    That's a great website! And, my apologies.... I recall the Holland vs. Netherlands issue coming up while watching the World Cup.... So, I am staying in the Netherlands, but will visit Holland, correct? ;-)

    I would love to stop, but my train from Bamberg to Maastricht is 6+ hours, and I don't want to arrive too late. So, I don't think a FFM stop is workable.... :-(. Wish I could..... Prosit!

    I stayed one night in Bamberg, loved the beers there and the city! Have fun! All six breweries are within walking distance of each other. If you carry a 500ml mug with you then you won't have to pay any deposit and they will fill your mug with the draft beer that you order. :-)

    All six? There are ten breweries in Bamberg: Ambräusianum, Fässla, Greifenklau, Heller (better known as Schlenkerla), Kaiserdom, Keesmann, Klosterbräu, Mahr's, Spezial and Weyermann. Plus one more, but it's beer is not sold to the general public.

    Hey @MattRiggs, if you are game, will be at the Weisses Brauhaus on Sunday , 21Sep, from about Noon on.... Have started my trip there for about 8 years now.... some Weissbier und Weisswurst, then off to The Fest later... Tradition!

    Unfortunately, I only have a few liters left in the bottom of a keg that I tucked away in a lager cellar. Which reminds me, I need to drink that this week...

    @MattRiggs - change of plans... now 1230 on 21SEP at the Augustiner Bräustubn for a quick lunch and Biers before hitting the Wies'n around 1430....
