De garde's quarterly release is next saturday the 23rd.

I was wondering how early do people normally line up for the bottle release?

also how crazy does the tasting room get during these releases?

We're opening up the brewery floor, and having several tap lines, so hopefully faster than ever service, alleviating the need for early arrival.
As far as lines, we don't know. There SHOULD be enough bottles to last the day, and as always we hate advocating a longer wait in line.
I'd say if you wanted to be in quick and enjoying some draft (we're hoping for 30 minute bottle sales line at worst with the extra help we're enlisting) then earlier is better.
We will be selling a handful of miscellaneous 3L bottles though.

Thanks for the information and that was my plan show up a few minutes before opening to get my bottles and then spend some time in the tasting room having a few beers.

how much would the 3 liters be and which beers will they be?

You should raffle the right to purchase 3Ls; would give everyone a chance at them and further reduce the need / desire to get there crazy early to line up!

Previously, 3L have been $80 or 90. But you also need to be there early to get one. Last two releases, I believe the first guy in line was there early a.m., certainly before 6:00.

is this a public release or Keeper's only release? Can't wait for my 2015 membership to start!

It's both - public can buy bottles of the 5 that have been announced and the keepers get their quarterly distribution of 2 bottles that I believe still haven't been announced.

No one is asking people to mule bottles for them yet? Surprising...

Keepers Releases (details from this morning's email):

Unblended Connak: A sour farmhouse ale. We selected a particularly characterful barrel to reserve and package unblended.

This beer fermented and rested for months in a beautiful first use French Cognac barrel. Spicy/sweet barrel character marries with a pronounced tartness and fruit character from the wild fermentation.
    8.4%abv

Cherry Rum Bu: A single barrel selection of our Berliner Weisse inspired ale, this was fermented and aged in first use rum barrels.

A secondary fermentation on sweet Oregon black cherries couples with the subtle barrel notes to provide a rounded fruit and slight sweet character in the finished beer.
    4.3%abv

    tl;dr-- YUM.

Love that there are three variations on Connak, which I presume are the same base. It's like The Bruery without a sugar rush.

    ?
We did one batch (four large barrels). We found one barrel that we thought distinct and awesome enough to package solo as a members beer. So... Two iterations total?

I think he meant three variations of Ambre: Connack, Poppy Van, Keepers

    Ah.
Slightly different base beers for Poppy and Connak..
Ambre is just referencing the color, which is similar between the two.

Ha, yes - my mistake: 3 version of "ambre." Insert the obligatory diabetes joke: I'll just add 3 tablespoons of sugar to each glass and make it a Bruery beer. ;-)

I was assuming it was like a Bois or Sucre scenario ... same beer, different barrel treatments. Interesting to know that it's a different base. If I'm reading @deGardebrewing right there was a base for Poppy and Connak; which base does the Keeper's version come from?

Random question: Do you ever plan to bottle/make Mulligan again? That was a great beer and wish I would see it again.

Man so jealous of all you BAs out by Degarde. Would love to try some of these brews if anyone runs into some extra bottles
