I will be visiting family in CHI during Thanksgiving weekend and was planning to coincide with the BC release. Do you need tickets (if so, how do you get them), or do you just show up early in the AM in line? Obviously the goal would be to get bottles of their brewery only release bottles..

    Any input/feedback is appreciated. Cheers!

There is no brewery release. You can get all the varients at an Binnys along with many other local stores. You will have to check each store for their release procedure.

Thanks. I thought Prop was released in stores and at the brewery last year. So they don't do any party on black friday, at least the variants on tap?

There is a ticketed tasting at the GI location across from the Binnys in Lincoln Park of all the variants that occurred last year...

If you are going to bite the bullet and try to wait in line, i'd suggest a few red bulls, a sleeping bag and a crave case to bring with you cause you'll be standing there all morning. I wasn't able to participate in the hunt last year, but did make a few friends at my local spots that held a bottle of Backyard Rye and 4pk of Regular BCBS so that I wouldn't be shut out.
I unfortunately have to work on Black Friday's. But driving into work at 4am and seeing a line outside of a Binny's was just nuts. I love beer just as much as the next guy, and put in work for tasty brews and stood in line all day and night for NG VWP, DH BA PT5, and CW '16.

Good luck man, I hope you'll be able to pull some bombers/bottles as the release types that I've read already are supposed to be phenomenal.

Things are far different at Binny's now than they were last year, primarily due to the installation and licensing of the bar on-site. This means that there are several options available as to how the event can/will be run (including the option of a ticketed release, i.e. buy ticket for $30, get pour of BCBS at the bar plus a bomber of your choice, etc.). Until further details are announced, all speculation about having to get there early, etc. are based solely on the experience from last year, which operated under a very different set of circumstances.

You will get Bourbon County and it will be on shelves for several months after release. Variants will pop up here and there, etc. The Black Friday release at Castle Vav is just one of several opportunities available starting after Thanksgiving. Until that time, let's enjoy the rest of the summer and fall before worrying about temperatures below freezing.

Did you really just recommend a Crave Case? You are a brave man, or incredibly inconsiderate lol.

Just save the Crave Case for around 7-8 AM unless you want to be forced to go to the scrap yard behind Binny's to take care of business.

I suggested it because anyone that wakes up and is standing in line at 4-5am for BC is either a idiot or drunk...so I figured it would consist of liking White Castle LOL.

I go to beer events a lot with either my wife and or buddies...Dark Horse, KBS, Central Waters, etc. The lines sometimes are more fun than the actual events themselves.

It would be nice if they were able to use that giant room where the bar is, the area with the wine glasses immediately outside of the bar and the long champagne room to allow for the line to queue inside the building. I could understand why they might not make the change to allow people to do that though.

Are you planning to tear someone's soul apart? If so, start with the guy shitting Crave Cases behind your building.
