Assassin went under the radar and was available to the people who knew for almost a week. I was shut out, but guys I know from Rochester got at least a case by driving down each day with mules. KS came and went under 24 hours, so it was actually harder to get by a long shot. He may be one of those guys sitting on a case or two of assassin and didn't get as much KS as he wanted.

It is tough to dispute what it there, but MNPikey has always been a generous BA in regards to sharing what he has and letting people know where the coveted bottles are on the shelves. How many of us can admit that if we had a chance to recoup some of the cash we put into the hobby, we'd be at least tempted to do so? I was one of the lucky ones to get multiple Assassins and have a BVLD because of it, so I'd feel like a hypocrite taking shots now with the rest of you behind my screen name.

Recoup cash? Don't buy 12 peoples allotment of a beer. I can take pot shots cus I only trade beer for kisses from the missus.

I've never met him. Perception is reality. Sorry...but in limited releases like this... It gives all things this hobby a bad rap. If you want to recoup caah., sell them to locals at cost + maybe a $5-10 up to recoup for transit yet letting those less fortunate to get to try one or two. Not put them online auction sites to make bank to continue the vicious circle. Of doing it again and again.

But to then also trash the brewers on the forums and tweet them inquiring about releases...shame on out. Be lucky to even get a bottle because of people like this!

This mindset is what's totally screwed up about the beer scene these days. The money (and time) you put into your hobby is supposed to be fun. That's what you're paying for. Buying beer to sell at a profit can be called a lot of things but, to me, that's not a hobby.

The man can do whatever he pleases. But when you call out TG, in jest or not, to brew MOAR beer!!1! and get MOAR fermenters!!1! Then that is not a man (or woman) who doesn't give anyone much respect.

It is disappointing seeing those auctions after wasting 3 hours of driving RT before finally getting ahold of someone at TG (called multiple times last night too) to find out that I would be shut out if I kept going.

Normally I delete links to auction sites (I deleted enough that you can't link to it from my post here), but this is a special case:

User @MNPikey reported your post and asked to have it removed because it revealed personal informtion. In this case, it does not and it was a rather underhanded effort to have this information removed in attempt to save face.

I look poorly on things like that.

I agree 100% and thankfully we are likely near the apex of the beer craze, and new and improved bottles are being released all the time. Hopefully we are a year or two away from seeing the bubble burst from this aspect of the hobby.

I wasn't calling out TG, I enjoy their beer and wish I could get more of it. Clearly the demand is there and they aren't meeting it. I've driven down there myself 5-6 times in the last couple months from Minneapolis. Almost 2000 miles.

I used to purchase alot of beer myself on ebay when it was an option. I've purchased beer from several other websites since, big deal. Very often, its cheaper to do so than setting up a trade for a few bottles. Either spend $100 for a bottle outright or $150 for a trade when you are all said and done. Bottles, extras, packing material, shipping. Alot of people would rather pay than deal with the hassle (clearly). Myself included if the price is right.

I know someone local with 3 bottles of Bourbon Vanilla Dark Lord. They cost $50. He wants $100 for each of them. I'm sure none of you would like his contact info right?

Spending hundreds for a handful bottles and selling one or two to balance it out worked out great with Assassin. Who can resist when you go overboard buying bottles and then see people are paying $200+ for one?

I'm sure many people here have happily bought beer from individuals on Craigslist getting out of the hobby knowing it was about market price.

What about buying a $25 bottle and then trying to trade it online $4$ for $200 worth of beer? I guess everyone should trade their beer $4$ only from now on?

What about paying someone $20 at a gas station to "run across the street and buy me some beer". I've seen it many times at events all over.

Gotta catch 'em all! I guess. C'est la vie. I wish that when I bought beer, I could buy more than I can afford or even really want and then have my wallet be recouped.
