I noticed that a local retail shop has two Cantillon's and I've never tried one...

Cantillon Cuvée Saint-Gilloise Lambic Style Geuze- $65
    and
    Cantillon Lou Pepe- $75

    1) Is it worth pulling the trigger at these prices?
    2) Any quality issue if the bottles are older (unaware of the dates)?

    These prices are outrageous!
St Gilloise should be about $35 with a good markup and Lou Pepe sounds overpriced as well. However, the vintage may be partly why the price is up here.
Otherwise, old is very good for Cantillon. No worries on this front.

both are high. the St. Gilloise is proportionately more ridiculous tho. I'm not sure which LP that is, but if this is the first time you've seen it on the shelf, you might as well get it.

In this country, LP should be around $50. I recently bought a LP Kriek 2011 for $50. The St. Gilloise is obviously ridiculous, but it's unlikely you'll see it again soon. I've seen it at a store near me for, I believe, $100, but it's a store known for gouging.

Think about it this way. Would you pay $50 for the St. Gilloise? If so, would you pay an extra $15 to get it right now? If so, then get it. If not, then pass.

I should mention the LP is the Kriek.

Got the money to splurge? Then buy the beer? Bills to pay? I'd pass.

I am also curious on these answers. I came across Cantillon on the shelf today for the first time.. Lou Pepe Gueuze for $45.

If one must have Cantillon, then surely buy it. My personal belief is that one may tour Belgian beers nicely without that expense. If one needs to knock these choices off some sort of list, then that's personal and none of by bidness. Cheers.

The LPG seems fair for U.S. prices. I'd probably spend $75 on the LPK because it's so good, $65 for a CSG is too much though. Also agree with what @Ri0 said.

FWIW, paid €12 for bottles of CSG and Iris in Amsterdam last weekend. God bless no checked bag fees!

Store or bar with package sales? And what city?

Both are close to double what I have paid for them this year. I personally would turn them down just because I can't support gouging to this degree.

Yeah, those prices are high. That being said though, if they're just sitting there on a shelf, I'm probably buying them (especialy the LPK).

Those sound about right for bar prices. At least in Miami.

What size bottles are you talking about? 375ml or 750ml or something else?

Someone asking if a $75 beer is reasonable? Now I've seen it all.

Whoa! Bought a bottle of Cantillon Cuvée Saint-Gilloise today when it hit Kansas City. $21. No lie! And this is at a bottle shop who knows how to price their stuff correctly. That's outrageous markup.

If it's at a bar, it makes sense. I've seen Palate Wrecker bombers at bars for $22 before, so a somewhat rare Cantillon at $65-75 doesn't surprise me if it's a 750 ml.

Steep prices. I paid 30 for LPK in a manhattan bottle shop and 60 for Fou in a Boston bar. Those towns aren't exactly inexpensive. Those were both 750ml BTW. I'd pass unless you simply gotta tick em all.
