Amity, around the corner from the brewery, is selling mixed 4-packs. Due to state regulations they only received a case.

Time for NEBCO to expand again.

Once again we let government run rampant, forcing businesspeople to do business in a less profitable way (so at stores where "craft moves more slowly" even GandhiBot might sit on the shelves and grow older and less saleable, but that's ok because it's more "fair?") in the name of some blanket "what's good for everyone is equal shares." When are we going to get off this fatal obsession with every darned thing having to be "fair?" At best it ends up having unintended negative consequences (like a lot of stale beer sitting on shelves in small market stores), at worst it's a ploy for politicians to get more power over our economy, in this case by assuming some of the authority of beer distributors in Connecticut.

I would love to have gotten a bottle of Parabola when it came out, but I neglected to have one reserved at my local store, and I don't think he got any anyway because he does not stock much Firestone Walker. I think I'll call my Congressman and demand that in the future, each new limited edition of beer I want must be distributed to each store evenly, including that tiny one nearest where I live. Only fair, right? After that, I'll demand that government force 3 Floyds to get me some BC Proprietor's. How dare they only distribute it in the Chicago area? Oh yeah and what about that inconsiderate monster, The Alchemist, only distributing Heady and Focal Banger to a limited area of Vermont? Outrageously unfair!

agreed, why distribute to other states if you cant meet demand in your own? if they were smart they'd be like two roads, massive, and can keep up with distro in ct, ma, and ny

Apparently I am very bad at detecting sarcasm on this site. So someone please tell me if that ^^ post above is sarcasm or real. If it's sarcasm, hahaha, nice! If it's not then I am really sad someone would compare Two Roads and Nebco in any way, let alone the business model. :slight_frown:

Pretty sure its not. The essence of post, to me, is that it'd be great if NEBco had more production capacity.

No, we do not want NEBCO to be like Two Roads. Two completely different business models. I like them both, but completely different.

I would be perfectly happy if NEBCO was manufactured and distributed as aggresively as Two Roads. I'd be happy if The Alchemist was, too. Rarez do not make beer taste better to me.

I believe they are upgrading their brewing system at some point next year. They're only on a 15bbl at the moment.

Yeah, they have ordered a 45bbl brewhouse that should be coming late this year/early next year. Look at it this way; right now it takes them 4 brews to fill one of their 60bbl fermenters. Soon they will be able to do that in pretty much one brew (15bbl and 45bbl brew simultaneously).

They are in fact improving their brewing process over the coming months. We should be seeing a lot more than Sea Hag, Elm City, and 668 on the shelves in 2015. I'm crossing my fingers Gbot will be back to the way it was in 2012-2013 when I would go to my local store and decide whether or not I needed more until the next time it arrived again in 2 weeks.

Actually, I never have a problem finding the Core Retail 3 in FF county. But I would look forward to more of the rotation beers

As a Nutmegger with a strong Libertarian slant I hear you. What may suck equally as much is hoarding. I went into a store that usually gets GB whenever NEBC releases some, the stock guy on the floor told me they got 4 cases 3 days earlier and it sold out in 1 day. The manager doesn't allocate and a couple guys bought cases. Buying a case of GB is a lame move, anyone one that buys a case obviously knows how limited the supply is and knows they are screwing a bunch of other fans. a four pack may be not enough but 2 4 packs should be fine.

I think you will see more of this as the perception / reality is that it is harder and harder to fine. 1 or 2 4 packs may have lasted until the next shipment in the past but maybe people are worried that it doesn't now ... and that 1 or 2 becomes 2 or 3 until people feel the frequency picks back up again

I was surprised at one of the stores in my area this afternoon. I've asked for GB there before and the owner remembers me. He followed me back to the cooler, mentioned GB, and asked if I was looking. Seemed so much like a drug deal in a parking lot. Anyway, I said sure, interested. He said he got one case and was selling for 15.99 a 4pk to customers he recognized as having asked in the past. I said, that's kinda steep, actually, and he asked what I'd paid elsewhere. I told him 12.99 a 4pk. He said that's what HDI was charging him as cost. Regardless of who was doing the gouging, I bought as offered. Not nearly enough Gandhi sightings around here. $4 a beer is still cheaper than $7 out on the town.
