I loved, LOVED samuel smith lager.

All of a sudden, i don't. Not sure why.

Just thought it would be an interesting thread.

    You?

Spaten Lager and Reissdorf Kölsch. Nothing about the beer has changed; I just can't get them on tap anymore. Skunked green bottles are freaking disgusting.

I'd still love them if I could get them fresh on tap, especially the latter!

Founders All Day IPA. I drank so much of it, I can't stomach the idea of ever drinking it again. Realness!

New Belgium's Loft, back when I was very first getting into beer. They haven't made it in quite a while as far as I know, but looking at its page, apparently people are still reviewing bottles, WTF? :astonished:

Since you've given no timeline, and if I had a wayback machine, I'd say Mickey's in the grenade bottles, Stoney's, Rolling Rock, and Gennie Little Kings, circa 1981-82. I had a bit of a misspent youth..

Genesee Cream Ale. Back in the early '80's we discovered GCA.
Drank a lot of it and really liked it. Had one a few years ago for
old times sake. Was bad. Don't understand why I liked it.

Late 90's: Theakston's Old Peculier and Bass Pale Ale.

I fell in love with British ales while living over there in the late 90s. Unfortunately these two have both changed in taste since then, and not for the better. To my palate they've gone bland and blah since I first learned to love them 20 years ago., especially when bought in the US.

Left Hand Milk Stout. This was the beer that got me into craft. Years ago I used to think it was a phenomenal world-class beer, then I actually had phenomenal world-class beers. Still not bad, though.

Labatt Blue. Doesn't matter which side of the border it's on either. Times have changed...

Grolsch, Guinness, Fat Tire. Basically, all the beers that prompted me to start looking outside of American Adjunct Lagers.

Green Flash West Coast IPA, my first love in craft beer but grew out of it.

New Belgium's Trippel. I drank it for 2-3 years straight. Then--all of a sudden--IPAs started tasting good. It was a whole new world. Trippel is still good, but I haven't bought one in years. Once IPAs become good to me, I realized that I didn't like certain beer styles, not because they weren't good, but because I was straight up ignorant. Now, I try everything. Stouts, which I THOUGHT I once hated, are now one of my favorites.

I kinda feel the same way, though I still love Young's and Wells beers. Do you think its because back then the USA alternatives were blander in comparison than to what is currently out there?
