Found some at the TW in Brea before noon, $13 and change out the door for a six pack, limit one 6 pack. They only received three cases so I'll doubt this will last long.
Beverage Warehouse in Marina del Rey had it and is already sold out of it today... bummer. I knew it was coming up to OC and LA "soon" but no real indication on what "soon" actually meant. I guess it meant today.
Was able to grab a six-pack at WF Venice. There are still some there (in the back), so for those in the area, just ask anyone around on the floor and they can grab it for you.
I stopped by Ballast Point when I was in San Diego for the Stone festival and had a pint. Picked up a six pack as I walked out the door. I did enjoy this beer. I may just have one tonight
Is it that much better than regular Sculpin? Sculpin has really been a let down as of late, compared at least to how it was between around '08-'12.
Small side note, I saw a 1 bottle limit on St. Archer's DIPA the other day at Total Wine Tustin. I do really like that beer, but thought that was strange.
Went straight to the source to see what the hype was about. Nothing worth all the insane sought after shit. It was above average. Even Keel was better. To each their own. I left with a 6 of EK instead of Grapefruit
For what it's worth, I simply like Scuplin ipa, thought the grapeful version brought it up a notch. I was unaware of any hype or it being insanely sought after. I just brought a six pack because I liked it, and it was convenient to buy more. Didn't go out of my way for it and rarely do for any beer. I just bought a six pack of a beer I enjoy. I suspect this is what many of us do.
Grapefruit Sculpin is good if you let it warm up a bit more than you typically would with Sculpin. Not worth the hype though. I think they do limits based on the amount of beer received since not everyone is a beer geek who knows what is rare or not. Leads to some odd limits, but good also?
I'm glad that grapefruit sculpin is being distributed. I had it at the brewery and it was good. I hope that I'm at one of the stores it shows up at within a few hours of delivery and get a chance to purchase some.
No one else finds it silly the grapefruit sculpin is being limited to a 1-2 12oz bottle at most shops? Especially at $4 a bottle at some places. I get that it's a different variant, but these same places didn't limit the habanero sculpin.
They're doing that because many shops got one case each, which is only four six-packs. Total Wine got 3 cases so they sold six-packs. I have a feeling more will be sent up in the future.
