    A bittersweet day. The youngest of seven kids is heading off to college, and we're going to be empty nesters. We think it will take some getting used to, but are looking forward to a new direction in our lives.

    Lancaster Kölsch (Lancaster, Pennsylvania). On my first day in Pennsylvania I saw a billboard advertising Lancaster Brewing Co. and I've been wanting to try their brews ever since. I found this can of their Kölsch-style brew in a dodgy-looking shop in downtown Philadelphia. This also happens to be the first non-German "Kölsch" I ever try. Very nice color and aroma in this lager/ale hybrid. I should have bought a few more of them.

    Try a 50/50 mix of Lancaster's Hop Hog and Milk Stout (Won't layer) to make a Hogs Milk - definitely better than the sum of the parts.

I am even tasting my beer and trying to write a good review. Uinta Sea Legs. I sure don't have them. Sea Legs I mean. Last time I was on a boat I turned green and fed the fish.
