    Terrapin Hopsecutioner

    Excited to be trying my first beer from these guys. It poured a very pretty, glowing orange color with a finger of head. Overall a pretty good aroma on this beer; very fresh and herbal. The taste was very clean and refreshing, but nothing overly exciting. I didn't get any alcohol in the taste, and for an IPA, it wasn't terribly bitter. 3.6/5

    Drove out to Montauk for the weekend, stopped by the brewery and did some tastings. Picked up some cans for the beach

    Good afternoon, BAs! Today is another beautiful Summer day here in SE CT, which is to say that it feels like a Florida Winter. :grinning:

    I received this brand new Scottish Thistle glass as an early birthday present (not yet; it's on Wednesday):

    A Wee Heavy? Why yes, I think that'll work out quite well. :wink:

    The trees on the glass match my yard quite well, I just now noticed.

    Paired with last night's leftovers of spiced white rice and buffalo-beef hot Polish sausage drizzled in curry ketchup, and with a heaping side of loaded mashed potatoes:

    With all due humility...this is delicious.

    And as to Ride the Lion? Holy crap, this stuff is good! The bourbon barrel is as soft and perfectly integrated as in BCBS (and, like BCBS, it smells quite strongly on the nose). A pure malt bomb with smooth bourbon highlights. Better than Backwoods Bastard? Hmm...I sense a side-by-side in the very near future. :sunglasses:
