I was at a bar in Raleigh a few weeks ago and had this interaction with a server:

    Me: I'll have a you-in-ta Hop Nosh
    Her: You mean a you-nee-ta?
    Me: (smiles)The "I" is before the "N." It's you-in-ta.

    5 minutes later

    Her: Here's your you-knee-ta.

Southern Prohibition in Mississippi just released a killer baltic porter called Ragana (accent on the first A). Everyone I know calls it Ra-gah-na, but a guy at the brewery said Rag-a-nuh. Who cares, it's damn good.

I believe the last word is "boor-goyn-yuh"

Boor-GUN-nyuh with the last syllable being very subtle.

When people pronounce Gose as "goes" instead of "go-zuh."

I simply love being corrected in the US every time I pronounce something which is French or German correctly...

I wouldn't be surprised if something like this has already been posted, but if not...

I was at a bar with some friends to see a band and so it was a little loud in there. Here on Long Island, we have a brewery aptly named "Long Ireland." My friend orders their flagship, Celtic Ale, by saying, "I'll have a Long Ireland." Lo-and-behold, what does he receive?

A glass of Long Island iced tea.

I've heard three different goobers on three distinct occasions ask for "That Heady Tapper beer" at local packies. This is in Massachusetts, mind you. Each guy screwed it up the same way.

Aww, c'mon, they taste exactly the same. One is just a little more liquid than the other.

If I got the real deal that tasted like that beer, I'd be upset.
That beer is too damn sweet. If they toned it down to where it didn't hurt my teeth, I'd probably enjoy it more.

Another thing is when people pronounce "Pliney" that sounds like "pine-e". It's supposed to sound like "pin-e". Obviously with an "L" after the "P".

^That's already been discussed. I'd rather be one of the 98% of people who pronounce it "wrong."

Spell it Plinny and I'll pronounce it that way. Yes I know it is a name.

I intentionally try to mispronounce beer names. Bruery names are easy:

    Bois: "Boyeeeeeees"

Sucre: "Sucker" (Works easily with lines about Bruery's pricing.)

You're talking to the guys who spell "fav" in a thread and expect us to read it as "fave." The English language is crumbling before our eyes thanks to the interwebs (or Flavor Flav)! :grinning:
