I'm hoping to pick-up a bottle of Casey Brewing and Blending's Saison in Denver or Fort Collins next week while driving from Portland to Nashville. How difficult is it to find, or am I better off trading for it?

Small Batch, Mr. B's, Grapevine and Mile High are the ones I know for sure that got them. I am going to guess that most if not all of them are out. I would call just to make sure. I will actually be in Denver this weekend. Can definitely report back to you on Mile High & Grapevine since I am hitting both of them up.

Other than that I would call the others.

Wilbur's had some in Fort Collins but they didn't put a limit on it so it's probably gone

Mile High had 1 bottle left when I was there on Saturday. Grapevine sold out after I was there on Saturday. I saw plenty in Fort Collins at Wilburs on Friday though.

Weird - I just picked up 3 bottles at Grapevine this morning.

They must have put more out then. I saw 2 remaining on the shelf outside the bomber room in front of the cooler doors and someone grabbed them.

Popped mine open last night. It was tasty, but not the "mind-blowing, drive-across-the-state on a workday" incredible. Definitely not the "best beer in the state" as Mile High posted on their FB IMHO.

Also, Grapevine had some Rufus Corvus left if anybody's looking for it.

For me, Batch 1 was pretty damn good. Batch 2 was a notch below.

I thought B2 was much more dialed in to what he is trying to do.

Do you know if he is planning to just tweak batch to batch or finally settle on a recipe and stop labeling them batch #?

Since everything is 100% barrel fermented I would figure that they'll be labeling batch #s every time (much like Vieille and Surette). I would assume the recipe is close to or already dialed in and batch # really just corresponds to the blend of the barrels.

^^This. I went to the B2 release and did a side-by-side with B1. B2 edged out the win in my books, even over the Cherry Sour (though it was very young).

This was my thought as well. I think he is close to where he wants to be, but still may be making minor tweaks to his process. Maybe temps, fermentation time, bottle conditioning, carb levels, etc. . . I think it will be consistent batch to batch, with slight variations due to they way this beer is made.

Random ass question! But going down for the releases next weekend, anyone know any spots nearby for tent camping?

Hmmmm none that I know of but I don't know Glenwood that well. I'll also be there next weekend though!
