Surly 1349 Beer

From what I have read, "1349" is going to be a new line of collab brews from Surly. The first one is the black ale with coffee added, which is co-brewed with Lervig from Norway.

 

Sorry guys, No room for Wet this year. All full up brewing 25 dollar bombers.

 

1349 was the year of the Black Death in Britain. I wonder if all the beers in this series are going to be black.

 

This post makes me very happy and should be a nominee for post of the year.

1349 is the name of the metal band that collaborated with Surly on this beer. There are more collab beers on the way, but they won't be called 1349.

 

There goes my hypothesis.

 

Norway? Awesome! Coffee? Boooooooooo!

It took waaayyyy to many posts to figure this out. Don't you guys even Black Metal?????

 

I Black Metal. Saw 1349 open for Cannibal Corpse and Skeletonwitch at Station 4 a few years ago. Wonder if Todd was there too...
I'll be curious to see where these collaborations go and with whom.
