And of course I booked myself to go there for the Merkin release the week before! Wife will not let me do two in a row.

Go to the Agrestic release if you can only go to one. There will most likely by Merkin there for purchase.

Saw this on Beer Served Rare. The release info talks about a 375ml bottle, why does this label appear to be for a 3L bottle?

Because like with the other releases there will surely be some 3L in the wild.

Anyone know if the 12 bottle limit on Agrestic is on top of the 3 or 6 you already get with a ticket? Or can you only buy either 6 or 9 extra bottles to make it 12 total depending on which ticket you buy?

It's 12 total, regardless of how many you get with your ticket.

No, I'm pretty much against every ticketed Firestone release.

Just curious, what's your reason? The most recent one was the first I'd been to, but I found it quite good.

Yeah I'd like to hear that as well. The Bretta Weiss release was great.

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of the ticketed Firestone events. Bretta Rose was a cluster fuck compared to the Feral One (not ticketed, but at least entrance fee) and the Bretta Weiss ran so much smoother and laid back. Even adding 200 more people to this upcoming one, I can't imagine it wont run as smooth as Bretta Weiss.

I was going to ask this same question but didn't cause everyone is so sensitive these days...I love the ticketed release. Why wouldn't you right? Basically for $16 you get unlimited pours, food and NO f*ing hassle. Oh and guaranteed bottles which is perhaps the best reason.

Im not a big fan only because I don't have saturdays off :slight_frown:
I live 35min from barrelworks, and I know I will be able to buy agrestic on sunday with leftovers but bummed they will only sell vini at the event even if they still have some left over based on previous post.. after missing out on Bones I just might have to stop being a Debbie and take the day off

Wow, everyone wants to know the ol' doc's opinion. Well, here goes, but keep in mind it's just my opinion, and before you ask, yes I have shared this feedback with a few folks that work at Firestone...

First, let me say that I am not against a ticketed release in general. I very much like how Alesmith runs thier releases. Buy your tickets, come pick up you bottles between these two dates, no real fanfare. I don't even mind, for example, how the DDG release was ran. Buy your tickets, and then you have this one day to come get your bottles, but again no real fanfare when you got there.

In fact, I actually prefer both of those approaches to the bottles go on sale at noon, so folks start lining up at 6 am, and you have no idea after driving several hours if you're actually going to get bottles or not approach.

What I cannot stand at all is breweries tacking anything on to the bottle/ticket price beyond just the bottle itself (so called "convenience" fees being the exception as they're usually beyond the control of the brewery and are charged by their chosen ticket vendor). Sorry, but after driving a couple of hours I don't want to feel like I have to participate in the release party to get my money's worth, nor do I think that every bottle release really warrants a party.

Small pours of "limited" or "exclusive" beers? Personally not interested.

A FW mini-snifter that I can take home? Seriously, keep that awful glass.

10% off at your restaurant next door? So now to get my money's worth I must spend more money with you? No thanks.

Also I'll just say that the 3 bottle price for this particular event has got to be a joke, right!? $75 for 3 bottles + the extras they've tacked on. So you're basically paying $30 for all that crap, as opposed to the $100 for 6 bottle ticket, where you pay just $10 for the same crap? I don't get it.

So that's my take on it.

I agree that the 3 bottle price is ludicrous. Don't think I'll be going either if I can't get the 6 bottle ticket. I'm OK with paying an extra $10-20 for the guaranteed bottles and a little extra fanfare though. If I'm making the multi-hour trip to the middle of nowhere for the bottles, I'm not going to just pick them up and immediately drive back down. I'm gonna spend some time there regardless having some lunch and grabbing a beer, so it's nice to see FW offer up something special/different instead of the standard fare/beer lineup at their restaurant next door.

I think that's all pretty fair. Personally, I like the tacked on extras. If I'm going to be driving the two hours or so to get up there, I'd rather not just pick up the bottles and drive right back. I've had the opportunity to try a lot of things I wouldn't have tried otherwise and met some cool people.

I do agree that if you just want three bottles, the price is a bit excessive. I suppose the best of both worlds would be to have a ticketed event for the folks who want to stick around and don't mind paying for those extras along with a bottles-only ticket.
