KBS Release Date

    So KBS showed up for the second time this year in Arizona about two weeks ago. The total wine manager indicated that this was their second shipment and the second release this year from Founders. Does Founders in fact release this beer twice a year? Everything I see indicates they only release once, and if this is indeed true, I'm a bit miffed why the distributor would release some in May and then the rest in August...

    ^^^ agreed 1 release once a year I think the Dist was holding out

    I dont think KBS is a beer that the brewery releasing it would send it out un-announced, lol


    Edit: Didnt they just start distro to AZ ? Maybe that has something to do with it? Like, when they started distro was right when it was released so maybe they wanted to get established and then release more? Idk...

    yeah, that makes me angry. That means the distributor was lying to the store manager also. Really shady and not cool.

    KBS has recently reappeared in Chicago too, perhaps founders did hold some back

    Scenario three. There were newbie beer geeks in the distributor that was hoarding them in the ISO:FT department. You know trying to land some NorthEast Walez.

    There were a few stores in the burbs that received some kbs a couple weeks ago as well. Could be part of a second smaller roll-out...

    Could be your distributor's distributor (you follow? heh heh) found some extra stock and is now pedaling it to its customers.
    Still, the lie(s) are a HUGE turnoff...

    With the massive increase in production and distribution that Founders has taken on, it is very hard for me to believe Founders could fit a second KBS run into their schedule. With the product that they have to move I would be hard pressed to believe that they would just sit on bottles either. This simply does not benefit the brewery.

    Unless information comes from the source, the brewery, you should always question it.

    Tx got some BCBCS about 6 months after distro. Not sure how/why this happens, but who cares!

    About 3 months ago I found a bunch of velvet merkin at bevmo in sacramento and they tried to tell me the distributor got more. My guess is they lost a case in the back. Either way I was happy but now know to not listen to their employees.

    I was able to get 1 bottle at a great liquor store in the phoenix area. They only received 1 case so they were selling them as singles. Obviously age didn't hurt this beer. Very good. But yeah the total wine manager was full of shit.
