This BA stout out of NJ can definitely run with the big dogs! Slightly below BCBS, but higher than BA Speedway in my book.

2012 Olde School
Funky Jewbelation (2012 I think, maybe 2013)
Spring House Blood Lust aged on jalapenos in rum barrels

 

Good bye summer vacation. My wife left for work & my son is back in school today, he's starting 3rd grade.
Now it's time for me to get back to work.

Tastes pretty decent even though it looks like acid mine drainage.

 

A flavour bomb at only 3.4%. Insanely balanced, with the backbone and profile of a much bigger beer.

 

This beer taste a lot like I'm not going into work today.

Too hot to believe autumn is just around the corner, but I'm making myself believe with my choice of beer:

Well, these are a collab from Labor Day weekend, it was great, lots of Primo consumed. Still waiting on my box of whalez to arrive from South Carolina in the POD. Packed them up extra good, should be ok (hopefully!!!!). On the good side, our cars finally arrived and we get to pick them up tomorrow! No more rentals!

Went to Lani Kai again. We found this little spit of beach, not too many folks go there to hang out, but a lot of kayakers put off there, so they are gone just as they get there. We did see Jorge Garcia, from Lost and Hawaii 5-0 though. Nice fella, just talking with folks, swam for a few minutes, then left.


Went for a hike up Koko Head crater with the team. It wasn't easy, but I think I did it in 30 or 40 minutes. One of the girls did it in 16 minutes! The view from up top was awesome, hope to do it again sometime.



After that, we went to the UH vs Washington game in Aloha stadium. Washington was #25, UH wasn't anywhere on the radar, since they only won 1 game last year. UH played them hard though, gave Washington all they could handle. Coming from the South, the atmosphere was definitely a culture shock to me. Lots of reggae in the tailgates, asian food, but still tons of hospitality. UH fans were letting Washington fans use their stuff, including tents. It's great to see that type of Aloha in, what would be a hostile environment down South. UH missed two easy field goals and lost by 1pt. Hopefully they have a better season this year.


Had to enjoy Primo on draft, but $8 was a bit steep, so I just had one.


Yesterday, we ventured up to the North Shore, ended up at Turtle Bay (the same place their filmed Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Full House, and a butt load of other shows). All the beaches in Hawai'i are public, so we got to enjoy a resort beach for free. Wasn't sure what they had, so I took some Primo tall boys with me.


Put the next one in a cup, incase it was against the rules, didn't want to push the envelope with "outside" beer.


Was pleasantly surprised to find they had it on tap! $5 was more manageable than $8 at the stadium. This was a few sips in, but they did a great job of filling it with very little head. You get all they can possibly give you in the cup.
