As a BA I have really enjoyed trying new things and experiencing new and different styles and brewers. I rarely have more than 1 beer in a sitting and I will savor it and try to review it to the best of my ability.

However, there are times when quantity far outweighs quality. In a few weeks I am going on a Mancation. We buy and drink craft beers. However, we also play beer pong. I don't want to spend lots of $$ on beer that is there for sport. Looking for suggestions. Probably some macro brews that are palatable.

    Thanks!

Yuengling and other Yuengling products. Cheap and meh. But Then again, I've been known to beer pong with Four LOKO.

well some will disagree but 7-8 bucks a sixer is Sam adams and I am not a big beer pong fan, but its what I would use.
I like the stock ale or cream stout, or even the lager is fine. I cannot lower my beer standards for anything. but I like Blue moon also so go figure.

Blue Moon would work fr beer pong. Its cheap, and still very good.

Fill the beer pong cups with water. Pour your beer into a separate drinking glass. When a ball is made, take a swig of your beer and put the cup aside. Not only is it more sanitary but each person can drink what they want!

Also, I don't understand the concept of beer pong. If you do really well, you don't get drunk.

Premise of most drinking games, right there. That's why I always preferred flipcup in college. Everybody drinks the same amount.

OP, I agree with Yuengling and maybe throw in some Blue Moon to switch up the flavors a bit.

You don't play beer pong for the beer. I say buy a 30-pack of the cheapest light beer you can find and dedicate it to beer pong only. Don't over think it.
Not a bad idea as long if there are no beer pong purists. One person's swig could be another's sip... But if you're not being competitive, then who cares.

If you don't want to buy any cheap beer, there's a beer pong variant that could be fun [but probably more dangerous]. All cups are filled with water, except one cup is filled with a clear alcohol (like vodka or rum). An impartial person sets up the cups randomly so the players don't know which cup is the "shot" while they play

I could maybe let it slide this time...

...as long as you give me some of that mass produced swill.

I don't do quantity drinking much anymore except once or twice a year at family gatherings (4th July and Xmas). Usually, we do a Costco run and get a case of mixed Dos Equis, SN, or Lagunitas.

I'd pony up for a case of SNPA or Brooklyn Lager. Drinking macros in quantity always leads to the "beered out" condition where I'm looking for something craft or a mixer...

natty boh all the way. cheap and no real flavour to mess with your taste buds. have a side of good beer to sip on while you pong with cheapos.

If you're chugging beer out of a cup in which you're also throwing a dirty ping pong ball, why would you waste flavorful beer in there? Ice cold bud/coors/miller/corona/whatever Light should do the trick just nicely for beer pong. it's not exactly like the purpose of that game is to "respect beer."

As a guy who likes both enjoying craft beer and playing beer pong my honest opinion is get a "good" AAL like PBR or Rainier for the pong, don't use craft as it will just be wasted (pardon the pun). If you still want to use craft for pong then go with something along the lines of Redhook or Blue Moon.

I like to have a personal beer in addition to what is in the cups but nothing too expensive. I used Redhook's summer seasonal blonde ale for such an occasion this year.
