this is my first post ever, and I am afraid that I'll sound like a beer snob but here it goes :slight_frown:: today i bought a can of Ska brewing Mexican logger and a True blonde and I have to say i was not impressed at all, it tasted like your average bud light/coors light, am I the only one who felt like this? should i give Ska brewing a second try? if so what would you guys/gals recommend?

They make one of my favorite IPA's - Modus Hoperandi. You should try it if you like IPA.

I second this. I missed out on their Estival Cream Stout this summer. Won't make that mistake again!

Ska makes some great beers, probably a few less than great, but mostly it depends on what YOU like. Maybe the beer was handled poorly in this heat, maybe it just didn't meet your expectations. Give some of their other beers a shot before you condemn a brewery.

Their milk stout is pretty snazzy as well.

Those are the worst 2 they have. Like above, I like Modus a lot. Also the ESB is very solid.

2 of their beers that are not my favorite.
    Others are awesome. Estival, Modus...

    Estival...sooo good!

Coming in to echo the sentiments, fresh Modus Hoperandi is banging!

Mexican logger is a craft dos equis. What did you expect? Steel Toe stout is damn fine, as are ESB and Modus Hop, but my favorite is Hoperation Ivy, their fall wet hop release. Fantastic.

I'll hop aboard the Estival bandwagon; hauled a few back from NC with me, and wish I'd brought more.

They make some solid beers. I actually liked Mexican Lager for what it is.

Those two are not particularly good, but the majority of their line up is really solid. In cans, the stand outs are their ESB and their Rudie Session IPA. Also, if you can find a bomber of the Nefarious Ten Pin Imperial Porter, get it!

Maybe you just don't like pale lagers or blondes very much. I know I don't.
